Job Description
The Office of the Chief Data Officer is charged with being the voice of data and generally representing data as a strategic business asset. The primary role of this organization is to champion the use of data and information across the firm, and drive changes and improvements in data related operations. This office will help to enable the business, as well as provide insights related to attendant risks.
Significant effort will be dedicated to determining PwC data related needs, and developing proposed solutions. The Chief Data Officer team identifies where, when, how, and why the business uses data, and transforms it into information that serves clients.
Data Academies are empowering our people to think differently about leveraging data, incorporating visualization and analytics into our services, and disrupting the competitive landscape. The service is designed around three pillars supporting how we cultivate the Data and Analytics ecosystem internal to PwC.
(1) Grassroots:
• Develop and implement Data Academies;
• Increase the PwC practitioner Data and Analytics IQ and knowledge of the greater firm’s Data and Analytics capabilities; and,
• Empower and enable practitioners at all levels to innovate around data.
(2) Crowdsourcing / Incubation:
• Provide a central location to innovate and collaborate on ideas;
• Use a collaborative, data-driven approach to solve clients’ problems; and,
• Explore and prove commercial and technical feasibility of emerging analytics within different practices.
(3) Enterprise-wide Solutions:
• Capitalize on market-ready enterprise solutions already available;
• Harness the power of the network to share and reuse IP; and,
• Connect development efforts around Global Practices.
Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 6
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or GED
Degree Preferred: Bachelor's degree
Certification(s) Preferred: in Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, Teaching, or PMP.
Knowledge Preferred:
Demonstrates intimate knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
• Creating, sharing and delivering work in Alteryx, Tableau, Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI or similar BI tools;
• Demonstrating analytical thinking about data, analysis and visualization;
• Communicating and working with leaders and facilitating, creating, and driving large meetings;
• Understanding of Change Management and Project and Program Management;
• Managing a technical landscape to stay relevant to customers and competitive with the external environment; and,
• Managing others including teaching, mentoring or coaching others.
Skills Preferred:
Demonstrates intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
• Demonstrating case specialization in Alteryx, Tableau, Power Query, Pivot and/ or BI (or similar BI tools);
• Creating agendas, setting up and managing programs;
• Communicating and presenting to large groups of people;
• Consulting, teaching, and/ or meeting facilitation skills;
• Working with external vendors to develop enablement programs;
• Having an investigative mind towards data, analysis and sharing new information with others; and,
• Demonstrating a self-motivated and work ethic with a service-oriented personality, as well as a ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities or roles.
