Job Description
The Tableau Engineer will be part of the Cybersource Global Services’ Analytics Team and be responsible for creating data solutions to improve the overall efficiency, productivity and management of Tableau dashboards to visualize data and performance trends. The engineer will work closely with the other members of the Analytics Team and internal constituents to develop solutions, train users, diagnose system errors and user issues, and develop frontend solutions.
• Serve as the primary Tableau developer and administrator and Subject Matter Expert (SME) as well as work closely with developers to ensure data view tables and data sources are accurate and efficient.
• Performs data analysis using tableau and SQL to provide summary and interpretation of managed risk and payment data
• Use and provide training in the use of Tableau Desktop (dashboard creation, report authoring and troubleshooting, data source management)
Qualifications
Required Skills
• Tableau specific:
◦ Minimum of six (6) years of experience in visual reporting development, including hands on development of analytics dashboards and working with complex data sets
◦ Minimum of four (4) years of Tableau development experience
◦ Able to blend data to create powerful dashboards
◦ Create action filters, parameters and calculations for preparing dashboards and worksheets in Tableau
◦ Deep understanding of tableau server and data sourcing and management
◦ Experience building and deploying Tableau dashboards for regional teams of users
• Integrate with developers and business analysts to test, clean, and standardized data to meet the business standards
• Performs Data analysis, statistical analysis, recognizes inconsistencies and initiates resolution of data problems. Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangibles.
• Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
• Provides guidance to other personnel.
• Validate work of other programmer/analysts.
• Create/maintain tools to improve programming efficiency or quality for team members.
• Must have excellent oral communications skills, and writing skills.
• Must be comfortable working directly with business users, and senior management.
Desired Skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent, BI dashboard design and development projects
• Ability to use professional concepts to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways.
• Ability to communicate abstract concepts verbally and visually
• History of providing training to a large group of end users
