Responsibilities:
The Investment Operations Sr. Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of an investment operations area(s). Incumbent will assist in the development, implementation and ongoing management of investment operations strategies, policies, and procedures across Principal Global Investors' boutique structure. Incumbent must effectively communicate and partner with PGI-Shared Services and boutique stakeholders as well as members from external organizations.

Accountabilities:
• Provide leadership over a middle office investment operation’s team(s) within Principal Global investors.
• Develop, coach and motivate staff in a global environment that instills a sense of energy, ownership, and personal commitment to work while embracing change and creating efficiencies.
• Development and implement processes to ensure timely and accurate day-to-day support of both internal and external clients.
• Lead process improvement through improved end-to-end process design and management globally.
• Lead and/or assist with the implementation and review of internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Create a risk aware culture through anticipating problems and conducting thorough reviews to identify and solve for root cause.
• Collaborate with others across the organization and/or external vendors to develop or enhance processes.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in investment/mutual fund operations or related field.
• Five plus years of demonstrated leadership experience.
• CFA and MBA preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of investment products and services, securities processing and information technology required.
• Must exhibit proven leadership abilities.
• Must have strong business acumen with results orientation.
• Must possess in-depth understanding of investment markets, securities, and their related accounting and performance measurement techniques.
• Must have in-depth consulting, human relations, communication, decision making, analytical, organization, and project management skills.
• Must be able to drive results, build and maintain strong, positive relationships and possess the ability to communicate ideas in a way that gain buy-in from others.
• Knowledge of a wide array of investment vehicles including, Fixed Income products, Equities, Derivatives and International securities.
• Proven ability to meet daily deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project).
• Project Management skills.
