Job Summary
Director, Investments and Corporate Development is a key support role to the Chief Investment Officer who has ownership for the execution of strategic growth and realignment opportunities for the company through targeted organic and non-organic strategies. Those strategic transactions can include, but not be limited to, acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, divestitures, reinsurance, identification of organic growth opportunities, and other structural changes that create long-term shareholder value. The primary role of the Director will be to assist the CIO in his role as our lead transactor, including the assessment and evaluation of potential transactions, business and financial analysis, due diligence/planning, negotiating terms and agreements, and developing business cases.
The ideal candidate will have a project management mentality and thrives off of making things happen.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Initial assessment of targets/acquisition candidates, including researching and analyzing companies for possible acquisition, evaluating for strategic fit, gaining an understanding of the industry/external views and performing internet research related to a potential acquisition candidate.
• Contribute to transaction evaluation, diligence and execution including liaison with sources of opportunities, internal deal teams and outside professionals.
• Business and financial modeling to include valuations, assessing enterprise impact (Earnings and ROE accretion, etc.).
• Follow-up on full range of transaction related details including modeling, legal documentation, correspondence, meeting planning, integration and transaction plans.
• Serve as point of coordination with Legal department for all acquisition related documents such as NDAs, LOIs and purchase agreements.
• Track and report on all corporate development opportunities in process.
• Assist in creating communication internally and externally regarding potential transactions and other presentation materials.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 3+ years of experience in asset management, insurance, accounting, investment banking, or consulting
• Project Management experience preferred
• Good organizational skills and interpersonal skills
• Travel required
• Experience in financial analysis, modeling, valuation analysis, economic analysis and statistical analysis, strategy or business development
• Knowledge of valuation techniques
• Strong business acumen, written and verbal communication, customer focus and detail orientation.
