POSITION SUMMARY
The Bankruptcy Specialistis responsible for monitoring bankruptcy files and ensuring that the bankruptcy processes on individual accounts are completed accurately and in a timely manner. He or she will complete their duties according to investor/insurer, state, and regulatory guidelines all while minimizing financial losses to the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Meet the Bankruptcy Timeline Management requirements by ensuring timely processing of activities and responsiveness to alerts.
• Minimize losses through management of attorneys and third party vendors to ensure bankruptcy processes are consistently progressing.
• Audit bankruptcy accounts for payment compliance and ensure proper application to the system of record.
• Ensure accounts are properly documented with actions taken, correspondence, and explanation of delays, if any have occurred.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2 + years of experience processing delinquent loans for bankruptcy, including a working knowledge of bankruptcy laws and terminology.
• Available to work overtime as requested and required by business need and communicated by your manager.
• Basic understanding of the MFR and POC processes.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Economics or Finance.
• Mortgage servicing experience.
• Experience with Fiserv, Aspect, or similar system.
