Responsible for the overall administration of Real Estate and/or Community Devl Finance (CDF)'s activities within an assigned geographic location. Ensure minimum quality and profitability of the district's loan portfolio. Independently solicit and develop the area's largest and most complex relationships or the most profitable, affordable housing relationships.
Major Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the officer call schedule as administrator for the group of lending officers.
• Identify target companies within an assigned area based on management's industry and profitability goals and objectives.
• Guide and direct loan officers at varying levels of experience with regard to the establishment of personal goals, setting of priorities, bank policy issues, and structuring, pricing, negotiating, and legal documentation.
• Strive for a high quality, profitable portfolio of account relationships by reviewing/monitoring new and existing transactions.
• Identify potential and existing credit problems and work with the account officer and/or customer for resolution.
• Call on the area's largest, most complex relationships as needed to generate new credit/service relationships as well as maintain customer satisfaction of existing relationships.
• For CDF, call on the largest, most affordable housing developers as needed to generate new credit and tax credit equity relationships.
• Anticipate problems and take initiative where customer satisfaction is deteriorating.
• Structure, price, recommend, and negotiate loans to large corporate borrowers and participate with subordinates in loans beyond their lending limits.
• For CDF, structure, price, recommend and negotiate loans and bonds to large, affordable housing developers.
• Interface with customers for the purposes of developing market information and referral business and coordinating loan participations.
• Train assigned loan officers in credit and financial analysis, pricing, documentation and negotiation skills.
• Perform the traditional managerial functions of performance appraisal, counseling, salary/promotion recommendations, hiring and firing (or recommending) of lending personnel in the area.
Qualifications
• Typically requires 10+ years Real Estate experience.
• Working knowledge of Real Estate Finance, Law and Appraisal and of the Real Estate policies and procedures, appropriate loan documentation; Bank operations and services; Federal and State banking regulations.
• Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to utilize legal counsel effectively.
• Excellent Real Estate underwriting skills that will create a high degree of credibility with senior management.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel and Argus a plus.
