Major Responsibilities:
• Is responsible for a portfolio of clients and/or prospecting for new to the Bank business via referrals in the Commercial Banking Middle Market Segment for the San Diego geographic territory.
• Analyzes our customer’s/prospects complex working capital needs, engaging them using a consultative selling approach and provides recommendations that add value and deliver strategic solutions.
• Manages pricing strategy and demonstrates a high level of understanding around Account Analysis billing systems for treasury management products.
• Establishes strong relationships with key principles to form deep client relationships and obtain trusted advisor status.
• Develops and delivers effective sales proposals and is comfortable presenting to the c-suite level management.
• Increases the Bank's profile and market share through growth and client retention efforts in the assigned portfolio and geographic markets.
• Effectively engages partners and team members within the Bank to coordinate efforts to win business and drive an outstanding customer experience.
Qualifications
• Position typically requires a degree from a four-year college (e.g., B.A., B.S.).
• Minimum 7+ years of sales and relationship management experience.
• Good working knowledge of advanced outside sales and marketing techniques, bank lending policies and practices, bank operations and services, federal and state banking regulations, and advanced knowledge of the Bank's income and cost structure used to measure profitability.
• Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) accreditation preferred. In some market segments, advanced knowledge of the total bank product set including the sourcing and structuring of credit, capital markets, cash management and Institutional Services & Asset Management, as well as concepts and principles related to industry needed products and services.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include selling of bank services, negotiating and closing sales opportunities while coordinating closely with others throughout the bank and preparing/delivering professional grade presentations.
• Proficient in multiple standard business software applications including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to travel locally and regionally to business conferences and events using the most reasonable method available; extensive automobile travel with some overnight trips is required.
• Senior TRM’s will also be responsible for taking a leadership role within the Transaction Banking team by helping management to identify and remove obstacles to growing the business, highlight best practices, lead projects and initiatives, deepen relationships with partners, back up their managers when they are absent, help to communicate management’s expectations and organizational priorities.
• As a senior member of the team, the Senior TRM will be responsible for supporting the TRM Manager with strategic planning around new business development, budgeting/forecasting projects, revenue generation projects and effective internal and external communication.
• Senior TRM will set a strong example for the rest of the team in how to act and perform in a professional manner, as a leader and as an outstanding corporate citizen.
