Job Description
As part of Enterprise Threat & Intelligence Management (ETIM), the Business Continuity Planning team is responsible for day-to-day management and coordination of the business continuity plans and exercises across the enterprise. In this role, the BCP team ensures each line of business has the properly-tested plans and tools to recover from a minor incident to a major issue that could potentially interrupt our day to day business.
The BCP team is seeking a creative, energetic, and dedicated individual to assist in the continued evolution and enhancement of the Business Continuity Planning program throughout the Company. The ideal candidate will possess, and have the ability to integrate, practical industry experience of business continuity with a detailed understanding of our business. This individual needs to be an effective communicator, influencer and negotiator. Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes
They will need to challenge and engage the organization to balance business needs with the effective management in all areas of business continuity appropriate for the changing and dynamic landscape for financial services institutions. The successful individual will have the ability to present innovative solutions and alternatives to business problems through engagement of collaborative and creative thinking outside the boundaries of existing practices and mindsets.
Skills
• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or similar field; OR equivalent practical experience in BCP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including expertise in creating and delivering executive presentations.
• Application of business continuity planning methods and testing to address business risks.
• Ability to constructively challenge prevailing thoughts and processes.
• Experience in performing business continuity planning analysis and assessments.
• Work experience in Financial Services industry.
• Practical experience with business continuity planning methodologies
• Ability to convey complex business continuity strategies in a manner easily understood and actionable.
• Effective and active listener.
• Building constructive and collaborative partnerships/relationships across all lines of business and functions.
• Identification of critical areas of potential business resiliency gaps and opportunities.
• Linking solutions and capabilities to business partner goals in order to overcome specific barriers to business.
• Working in conjunction with management to establish goals and strategies that challenge the organization to raise the bar on the management of business continuity and planning.
• Reframing the way business partners view business continuity in their business and promote it as a value proposition.
• Identification of inherent business continuity gaps resulting from business operations.
• Challenging business partners assumptions about value drivers and present alternative scenarios relative to business continuity and planning.
• Business and financial analysis experience.
• Negotiation and persuasion abilities.
• BCP Certifications
• RSA Archer applications knowledge preferred
• Knowledge of relevant financial industry regulations such as FFIEC and FRB
