New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM) seeks a Head of a newly formed Business Intelligence and Data Management Group. This position would be responsible for building and managing the Predictive Analytics, Data Analytics, Reporting and Data Governance teams. This position will report to the NYLIM’s Chief Operations Officer.
Key Team Responsibilities and Functions
• Conduct competitive product and pricing research, analyze and monitor market trends, and assist in product line positioning and new product development.
• Collect, organize, manage and report on all NYLIM data (Customer and Product) on a global basis.
• Develop, steward, organize, publish and evolve all data governance intellectual property that comprise data governance standards and best practices, including but limited to policy, glossary, taxonomy, process and data flows, process controls, data management service level agreements, and service and data quality measures/metrics.
• Responsible for predictive analytics and other modeling analysis for the organization, including benchmarking best practices across the industry.
• Develop value-added analytics utilizing data mining technology, multivariate analysis, regression analysis, and statistical sampling. This may include other appropriate methods and algorithms for underwriting, marketing or product forecasting.
• Provide data-driven insights that enable our team to better serve clients
• Ensure technology platform, infrastructure and tools remain leading edge
Skills
• 10+ years experience with statistical analysis/modeling
• Strong project management skills
• Strong experience in and knowledge of the asset management industry
• Strong analytical skills
• Superb presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Self-starter, high energy, hard working entrepreneurial attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
• Detail and results oriented
• Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams, and establish strong partnerships with internal and external business partners
