Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties:
Associate-Intermediate/Vice President with Goldman Sachs Bank USA in Salt Lake City, UT. Support the Profit and Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet production for the portfolio maintained by Private Wealth Management (PWM) Private Bank. The Loan products range from conventional (Securities Based Loans, Residential Mortgages) to creative (secured by funds, commercial real estate, private jets, etc.). Review, analyze and report P&L and Balance Sheet for the Loan portfolio maintained by PWM Private Bank. Analyze trading activity and servicing events impacting loans in order to identify risks and highlight significant items to senior management, including but not limited to preparing periodic profit and loss commentary. Liaise with trading desk and operations in order to ensure proper trade booking and work with operations to solve any booking/servicing related issues that may arise. Perform independent price verification to ensure that the bank loans are appropriately valued in accordance with market levels for bank loan trading business. Perform month-end and quarter-end procedures, including posting of profit and loss and balance sheet with respect to the Firm’s general ledger. Liaise with legal entity accountants to ensure appropriate entity reporting. Prepare schedules in support of the Firm’s external financial reporting to both the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Reserve.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Business, Accounting, Finance, English, Sociology, History, or related field, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with: financial instruments and financial markets, loans and fixed income products for purposes of understanding available market information; utilizing knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements with regard to financial statement reporting; performing independent price verification; analyzing and improving internal control framework in financial processes; interpreting, reporting, and presenting results of reviews to senior management and/or clients; presenting in front of large audiences (more than 50 people); training junior staff members; interacting with committees/external parties, and presenting findings and recommendations on controls improvements, and training/networking initiatives; Microsoft Excel functions including tables, vlook-up, hlook-up, macros, charts, filtering, data validation, and what if tools.
