Responsibilities:
Principal is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Mutual Fund Financial Reporting team. If you are a big picture thinker, and want to be a part of an ever changing, fast paced environment, this could be the right team for you!
This position will be responsible for the oversight of: mutual fund financial statement preparation, mutual fund performance, and prospectus reporting. In this role, you will get the opportunity to prepare, analyze, research, and communicate financial information to ensure accurate reporting and/or control functions. You will also establish, analyze and review accounting procedures to ensure the integrity of information and protection of capital. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on cross functional projects and process/system updates.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience required.
• 6+ years of related experience required.
• Control oversight, financial reporting and/or investment accounting experience preferred but not required.
• CPA or other applicable certifications preferred.
• Must have strong problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills required.
• Must be an effective problem-solver, as well as have a strong sense of independence, initiative and a self-starter.
• Demonstrates the ability to embrace and understand the change process, and effectively guides others through change.
• PC and/or system skills required.
