Provides comprehensive and complex financial and business analyses for Retail Banking Group. Prepares and supervises the preparation of complex analytical reports. Conducts and directs highly technical research and analysis projects. Makes presentations and recommendations to management. This position reports to: VP, Financial Analyst Mgr.
Major Responsibilities:
Financial Statement Analysis-40%
(Preparing Monthly Finance Reports, Budget/Forecast Variance Analysis, Cost Benefit Analysis on Projects, Coordinates Annual Budgets, Coordinates Quarterly Forecasts, Monitors Project Budgets). Conducts/compiles and analyzes financial/business metrics/data or such as acquisition analysis, sales volume trends, detailed financial plans, interest rate analysis, operating forecasts, peer group comparisons, or integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, or presentations. Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly and annual reports and ensures financial and business metric information has been recorded accurately. Provides analysis and interpretation of results. Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management. Requires deep understanding of business lines supported to properly align financial/business models and to assess the impacts to operational goals and strategic plans. Manages data through ad-hoc and management reporting. May be responsible for process improvement/automation pertaining to reporting.
Business Analysis -
(Analyze Sales Trends, Liaison with Capacity Mgmt on Branch Level Staffing, Produce Divisional Balanced Scorecards, Perform Cross-Sell Analysis of Bank Partner Products, Produce reports on Divisional Key Metrics) Develops and runs complex business/financial models to produce projections, simulate scenarios, and obtain comparative data. Establishes assumptions and critical decision variables. Tests for consistency and validity. Creates and maintains models used for financial statement forecasts and strategic business decisions. May develop and track KPI (Efficiency/Effectiveness) metrics for the business line. Tracks, monitors, and analyzes the goals and associated metrics. Develop sophisticated spreadsheets that includes advance and interactive functions such as macros/pivot tables or other advanced formulas, etc. Runs the necessary reports and/or programs for analysis and reporting. Acts as liaison between department and systems personnel to develop or enhance systems. May oversee preparation of reports/data used to determine incentive compensation payouts under various incentive plans.

Special Projects -
(Ad Hoc Support for Market Presidents)
Internal consulting-guide/assist business units on best practices in reporting their finances and business metrics, obtaining goals, etc.
May work closely with Business Intelligence Group for long-term automation opportunities and may develop executive reports that leverage Business Intelligence databases.
Performs additional duties and special projects, as assigned for the Retail Bank, Division, Region and Branch levels. Past examples include planning the best placement for new branches, building business trend predictions to analyze the profitability effect of adding Priority units to existing branches, performing economic analysis, constructing/ managing scorecards, bench-marking, competitor analysis and branch sizing reporting.

Qualifications
Additional Information:
Requires a four-year college degree.
One or more of the following designations: MBA, CFA, CPA or similar professional designation in Financial Management, Economics, or MS in Math, Accounting and/or Big 4 Consulting/Audit is strongly preferred.
Generally minimum of 5+ years of increasingly more complex responsibility in performing business consulting, financial ,and/or statistical analysis and model preparation using MS excel, (or comparable).
May require MS Access (or comparable) for data mining. May require MS Power Point for storyboarding or executive presentation preparation. May require MS Visio for organizational structure and process mapping.
Requires the ability to communicate comfortably and concisely with Executive Management.
Business level Japanese language skill preferred.
