General Overview:
The Quality Assurance Manager for the Enterprise Computing Services (ECS) domain is a leadership role accountable for developing and advancing the Quality Assurance and Testing capabilities and services within the infrastructure domain (working in close collaboration and partnership with the enterprise QM Center of Excellence), through the management of external service providers and highly skilled internal staff.
Primary Responsibility:
• Develops and maintains a highly skilled and performing team of QA Leads/Engineers to effectively collaborate with the infrastructure and solution delivery teams to ensure high quality changes are delivered to the Production environments
• Represents the infrastructure domain to the QM CoE, ensuring standards, practices, tools and testing shared services are effectively utilized and followed
• Proactively works in close collaboration with the various infrastructure engineering teams, Strategic Planning and application teams to sequence work to utilize resources optimally
• Effectively works with off-shore teams to establish a follow-the-sun model in test execution
• Develops and executes against well-defined Test Strategies
• Brings critical and innovative thinking to the test discipline to advance testing techniques
• Establishes and tracks measures and metrics in conjunction with the QM CoE
• Builds exceptional relationships across the organization
• Monitors and trends adherence to CoE standards and ensures opportunities to improve compliance are identified, prioritized and implemented
• Manages and/or coordinates Test Leads to ensure all necessary system testing is conducted and identifies areas to improve test processes and practices
• Works effectively with the shared services teams (such as performance engineering and test automation) to deliver well tested changes in an effective manner
• Consistently raises the level of quality and performance within the testing function
• Sets and executes against clear goals and priorities
Experience:
• Experience building and managing effective QA Leads / Engineering resources to include on-shore/off-shore component, managed services arrangement as well as staff augmentation.
• Experience working in a complex environment which contains a mix of legacy and modern technology stacks, batch and real-time processes across multiple data centers
• Experience in a visible senior QA role with proven ability to influence across IT disciplines
• Experience leading and developing test strategy and overall test effort on enterprise level platforms and across infrastructure technologies including on-prem (WMWware, DB, web, mainframe, middleware) and cloud-based stacks
• Experience in resource management; development & growth, mentoring. Ability to grow junior level talent, appropriately assess skill levels and provide continuous performance associated feedback
• Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment, across multiple locations and time zones, that requires the individual to simultaneously manage several activities while paying attention to detail and quality.
• Proven ability and experience in consistently understanding the technology landscape and providing innovative techniques to test utilizing an engineering mindset
• Experience in a full range of Scrum, XP, and Lean practices.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
• Leadership presence with ability to express ideas with conviction and engage and influence others
• Proven hands-on expertise in QA best practices, standards, processes, procedures and management of external vendors
• Demonstrated passion and clear vision for developing a highly motivated, engaged and technically skilled team
• Ability to develop in-depth knowledge of technology QA requirements for different businesses
• Strong collaboration, communication and management skills enabling productive patnerships in business and technology
• Strong change management skills fostering an environment of innovation, experimentation, open and direct feedback and collaboration
• Strong knowledge of network and server hardware, data storage and transfer software.
• Knowledge of and proficiency using Microsoft Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and VMWare.
• Knowledge of Cisco Networking and cloud based technology

Education - Degrees/Certificates
Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.
