Job Description:

Whether a retailer's disposition, lease restructuring or lease renewal goals are related to M&A activity, underperforming locations, relocations, downsizings, change in prototype, corporate restructuring or the normal course of business (i.e., pending critical dates), Excess Space implements Best-In-Class programs focused on maximizing the value of real estate for our clients.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional to fill a new Director level position in our growing and dynamic organization. The Director will negotiate lease restructuring and disposition transactions on behalf of our clientele, consisting of large national retailers.
Essential Job Duties:
• Negotiate directly on behalf of clients with their landlords to renegotiate and restructure their leases
• Draft LOI’s for specific transactions
• Interface directly with clients to communicate and consult on overall strategies as well as deal specific discussions
• Perform analyses on each specific transaction
• Weekly client reporting
• May perform other duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Master’s Degree and/or Juris Doctor Degree is desirable
• 2-5 years of retail real estate experience
• A significant understanding of retail leases required
• Great negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers
• Strong organizational, mathematical and analytical skills.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
