Job Description
Position Description
The Senior Mortgage IT Director will work with IT peers and business partners to guide and drive the company-wide strategic IT roadmap planning process, against current and future business priorities. This includes applying advanced IT expertise and business acumen to maximize the return on investment dollars, while enhancing the overall IT delivery process. The Senior IT Director will generally support platforms and departments within the Ally Bank Mortgage line of business. This responsibility will include oversight for IT delivery, development and sustain of the Mortgage Technology portfolio and systems.
Job Responsibilities
• Work with the CIO and IT peers to identify, assess and drive IT technology roadmap.
• Actively participates in long-range strategy planning and manages policy development to address complex business issues, providing leadership to cross-functional teams. Serves as the primary point of contact from project/program inception to delivery.
• Defines and develops project management infrastructure, manages a methodology driven quality plan, monitors and controls the quality of the deliverable, as well as manages the project completion process through customer acceptance.
• Works with business unit managers and forms alliances on projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements/conflicts and budgets.
• Ensure seamless delivery of IT/Business projects and initiatives within IT and to champion and execute the current IT vision.
• Improve agility, optimize processes and improve time to market for IT delivery model by optimizing processes, improving communication and removing duplication efforts across IT organization.
• Manage costs by establishing clear prioritization and accountability of projects.
• Responsible for the sustaining the Mortgage technology systems.
• Provides direction for technical and business resources.
• Provides leadership and management through coaching, empowering and facilitating teamwork for all staff, including the administration of personnel actions and reviews.
• Develops associates to their fullest potential and provides challenging opportunities that enhance associates career growth. .
• Recruits and develops appropriate talent pool to insure adequate bench strength and succession planning.
• Recognizes and rewards associates for accomplishments.
Qualifications
• 15+ years of professional experience in IT and enterprise applications delivery, including 10+ plus years of information systems experience.
• Must have 10+ years managing various aspects of mortgage technology including retail originations and servicing functions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business and/or an advanced degree (MBA, MCS)
• Must have proven business and technology skills, with success providing customer-oriented technology solutions environment.
• Demonstrated success as a change agent leading significant transformational initiatives in organizations.
• Must be a fast-paced and solution-focused "driver" for results in a performance culture, but also achieve results in a collaborative manner.
• Must be an effective communicator and considered to be a developer of people who is comfortable working with a broad cross section of people in direct and matrixed relationships.
