Job Summary:
Individual is responsible for overseeing all activities within the Accounts Payable Department. Individual is experience in managing offshoring / outsourcing team and has vast experience in automation of processes (ie robotics). Forward looking thinker who can articulate the need for and implement process improvements
Responsibilities:
• This role will have ownership of the Bank’s Accounts Payable Department. He / she will oversee monthly and year-end accounts payable closing, reports and reconciliation accounts payable sub ledger to general ledger, supervise the payment of invoices, check requests and accuracy and approvals to ensure compliance with company policy.
• Management or Supervision: 7 – 10 FTE.
• Establish department goals and objectives, and evaluate policies and procedures on an ongoing basis.
• Develop strategies around future system enhancements/changes (ie automation/robotics). Successfully transition processes from manual to automation without disruption in maintaining customer schedules or company objectives.
• Lead and drive approved procurement strategy and policies, and ensure compliance.
• Evaluate overall accounts payable program to ensure business requirements are met, projects are executed according to requirements, with a high degree of quality, and on-time.
• Establish and maintain a professional relationship with vendors and departments within the organization.
• Liaise and partner with Business Units, Internal / External Auditors, Supply/Chain teams, Controllers/Accounting, SOX.
Qualifications
• Must possess ability to make appropriate business judgments and decisions independently. Demonstrated ability to perform strategic thinking and planning.
• Proficient in ERP systems (ie Ariba, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc)
• Ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization within a fast paced environment and successfully balance multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present business cases during supplier negotiations and meetings that properly represent the company's position.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other office software tools.
• Ability to build effective organization relationships inside and outside the department; ability to inspire trust via open, candid relationships, fair treatment, and behavior consistent with expressed beliefs and commitments.
• Bachelor's degree in Sourcing, Procurement, Business Administration/Finance or equivalent business experience required, MBA preferred but not required. 10+ years of strategic sourcing and supplier relations experience. 5+ years staff management experience required.
• CPA license (plus).
• 5 to 7 years of experience at a BIF 4 or large accounting firm or similar mix of Public/Private experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and how to apply them.
• Experience in automation ie Robotics and managing outsourcing/offshoring team.
