You are responsible for leading the day-to-day management of strategy consulting projects. Our projects aim to solve Fidelity’s most critical business issues, and your role is highly valued by Fidelity’s business leaders to drive critical thinking forward. The Expertise We’re Looking For
• Education: You must demonstrate interest or experience in the financial services industry and have an MBA degree or equivalent.
• Experience: The position requires three or more years post business school consulting experience with at least one year in the project manager role, preferably with a top tier consulting firm. In addition, you must have exceptional analytical, communication, conceptual thinking, project management and problem-solving capabilities. You have both the flexibility and the skill to lead and contribute to teams. You have demonstrated interest and/or experience in the Financial Services industry.
The Purpose of Your Role
The purpose of your role is to lead strategic projects critical to our business. These projects are typically staffed with three to six associates over a four to six month timeframe. Your role is to help scope the projects, lead and manage workstreams, and partner with Fidelity business leaders to drive successful outcomes.
The Skills You Bring
• You have well-developed consulting skills and a demonstrated track record of managing projects that achieve tangible business results. Ideally, you should also have a long-term career objective of becoming a senior manager in a financial services firm.
• You have experience with project and team management, specifically including strategy development, evaluation of new products and services, and business transformation
• You can synthesize analysis and research into strategic insights and practical recommendations, including strategic analysis, financial analysis, operational analysis and primary/secondary research
• You are able to influence middle to senior management, through both personal interactions as well as the creation and delivery of presentations
• You are able to assess risk and operationalize findings – turning research into actions
• You are able to quantify challenges and requirements related to execution
• You are able to drive to decisions in complex environments with multiple stakeholders
• You can build relationships with peers and executives in a variety of capacities
• You have a passion for people development and coaching
• You are comfortable with ambiguity
The Value You Deliver
• Leading and delivering complex strategic, transformational, and growth projects
• Interacting with Fidelity associates at more senior levels, gathering data and input and helping build consensus with key stakeholders
• Directing various analyses, including market analysis, internal capability assessment, competitor intelligence, customer research, product assessment, and financial analysis/modeling
• Leading the development of insights to create new strategies or products/services and developing recommendations for improving business processes, working closely with business unit personnel or potential alliance partners
• Preparing and delivering presentations to senior executives
• Developing knowledge and skills necessary to assume additional responsibilities within FC or other parts of Fidelity
