New York Life Investment Management seeks an associate with corporate finance or financial services background to join its strategy team. The strategy team supports the CEO of NYLIM on special projects including M&A and other strategic initiatives.
Key Role Responsibilities and Functions
• Research, identify, evaluate and present market and product opportunities for business expansion
• Assist in analyzing and executing on M&A opportunities through transaction completion
• Conduct market and industry competitive research to assist in developing business strategy
• Create, design and coordinate the development of board presentations
• Develop financial models and analyses
• Coordinate activities among senior management team, investment boutiques, business units and other stakeholders
• Provide support on projects critical to the organization
Skills
• 2+ years experience, preferably in investment banking
• Some experience in and knowledge of the asset management industry a plus
• Some financial modeling and valuation skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Superb presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Self-starter, high energy, hard working entrepreneurial attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
• Detail and results oriented
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams, and establish strong partnerships with internal and external business partners
• Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word capabilities

Assets under management represent Consolidated Domestic and International insurance Company Statutory assets (cash and invested assets and separate account assets) and third party assets principally managed by New York Life Investment management Holdings LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company.
