To manage the development and implementation of Corporate Finance projects and delivers quality services/products to Corporate Finance clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Develops, manages and executes the most complex and largest business projects that span across Vanguard departments. Communicates progress, issues and solutions to senior management, business project clients and stakeholders to obtain their input as appropriate. Provides written and verbal communication to various audiences within Vanguard on the status of the projects.
• Partners with business clients, IT and management to determine the scope, requirements and solutions for projects. Works with identified stakeholders in planning and implementing system software solutions. Manages concurrent projects of varying scope and impact.
• Understands client business functions and technology needs. Maintains a broad understanding of Vanguard's technologies, tools and applications, including those that interface with business areas and systems. Participates on large, matrixed project teams and interfaces with cross functional team members.
• Understands the business process for all stakeholders and is able to piece together siloed information to form a total process view.
• Proactively identifies opportunities for system and process improvement. Leads current state and future state analysis of process and system improvements by using a broad array of tools, techniques and strategies to examine the issues inherent in meeting the business units’ goals and objectives.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with both internal and external clients and business partners. Fosters effective communication. Anticipates clients' needs and ensures clients' satisfaction related to the services being provided.
• Participates in the development of project briefs with the client, cost benefit analysis and preparation of the technology plan and Proforma reporting.
• Provides software expertise and Vanguard system implementation methodology to the business and in educating Production Support crew.
• Maintains ownership of the vendor relationship during project implementations and after implementation until ownership is able to be transitioned to Production Support. Ensures Vanguard receives value for the spend.
• Reviews all test cases written by the business project team and IT for accuracy and thoroughness. Able to step in and support System Acceptance testing as needed.
• Champions Vanguard Unmatchable Excellence efforts with an emphasis on minimizing business risk. Validates trends and establishes ownership for corrective action.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree (in a related field, Business Administration or Accounting preferred) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum of five years business related experience.
• Minimum of three years project management experience and/or project management certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of broad financial concepts and financial analysis; CPA or MBA preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with differing deliverable dates.
• Thoroughly knowledgeable in testing and test case writing.
• Demonstrated planning and analytical skills.
• Impeccable judgment and ability to analyze and respond to problem situations.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Excellent computer skills required including a broad knowledge of all MS Office software. A detailed knowledge of specific CFS systems/applications is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
