JOB PURPOSE (JOB SUMMARY):
An opportunity exists for a senior channel marketer with experience in developing institutional-quality marketing programs to be part of Invesco’s Institutional Marketing team in a position targeting Defined Contribution Plans (Institutional/Direct and Intermediary/Advisor-Sold DC market segments). In addition, the position will also partner with the Defined Benefit, Consultant Relations and Insurance (institutional general account, retail sub-advised and variable annuity) marketing and sales groups to package, promote and cross-sell Invesco’s DC products and capabilities.
The Channel Marketing Director – DC(IO) will help create brand awareness, relevance, engagement and preference at and beyond the point-of sale in the U.S. Defined Contribution market place by developing and implementing channel marketing plans that are aligned and integrated with the Institutional and Advisor-sold DC(IO) business’s goals and objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
§ Own strategy development and implementation for DC(IO) across Institutional/Direct and Intermediary-sold channels:
◦ Conceive, develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns, applying segmentation techniques developed with the help of in-house marketing database and business intelligence experts, as appropriate.
◦ Lead program development and execution (product and thematic campaigns, contact and drive to web /digital strategy, as well as events and roadshows), overseeing channel marketers who will assist in the development and execution of the marketing plans.
◦ Be the channel brand champion in delivering Invesco’s brand promise and value proposition to support the businesses strategic growth objectives within the DC(IO) segments.
◦ Partner with Institutional Program Marketing to leverage/incorporate the DB, DC and Relationship management programs in to the DB and DC(IO) channel plans and go-to-market strategy; work with the Program Marketing team to identify and develop channel-specific insights as extensions to these programs, as well as identify and develop broader channel-specific content/insights needs.
§ Take the lead in developing relationships and partnering with Investment Groups, Product Management and Product Marketing to help inform development, packaging and market activation of compelling messaging and positioning programs for Invesco’s solutions and bespoke strategies to the DC(IO) marketplaces and segments.
§ Develop effective partnership with the Marketing Shared Services Groups to leverage skills and expertise to activate marketing programs that leverage the full set of marketing channels and expertise (Events, Brand, Digital, Product Marketing, Database and Analytics Teams).
§ Partner with the Events team, lead and help implement the Channel’s Event strategy and program.
§ Will be responsible for developing and maintaining:
◦ Channel-specific marketing program assets and materials that articulate combined DCIO businesses’ value proposition and capabilities including pitch books, fact sheets, videos, webcasts, web copy, sales ideas, brochures, and flyers (leveraging the support of communication and other specialist functions to develop, deliver and maintain these).
◦ Channel-specific communication programs that apply best practices in digital and social media disciplines.
◦ Support other ad hoc cross-channel marketing initiatives that may arise from time to time.
Qualifications
WORK EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
§ A minimum of 10 years marketing experience within a financial services environment, preferably institutional asset management, with proven industry, market segment/channel knowledge and solid grasp of investment products and their application and relevance in the Institutional context.
§ DC marketplace knowledge and marketing experience a big plus.
§ Previous experience in an investment management channel or product marketing role (preferable institutional) with a demonstrated track record packaging and promoting DC-specific investment products (Target Date Funds, Stable Value), insights and themes across multiple asset classes.

§ Willingness to travel to sales meetings and client meetings as needed.
§ Knowledge of regulatory and industry rules, guidelines (GIPS, SEC, FINRA).
FORMAL EDUCATION:
§ Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) degree required, MBA preferred.
LICENCES/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
§ Series 6 or 7 helpful, but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
§ Normal office environment.
§ Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment.
§ Willingness to travel as necessary for client and internal meetings (usually less than 25% of time).
