"SUMMARY
Directs organizational policies and programs designed to ensure compliance with federal regulations. Develops and implements strategies for minimizing loss and reducing risk. Develops organizational response to changing fraud patterns or regulations in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Has responsibility for the development and coordination of the organization's compliance efforts.
• Coordinates the review and interpretation of new and pending laws and regulations, which potentially affect the organization's business practices.
• Directs and assists staff with the development or revision of policies, procedures, products, documents and marketing material to ensure compliance.
• Coordinates the review of federal and state banking laws and regulations, reviews the financial institution’s policies and procedures, and ensures financial institution compliance with laws and regulations.
• Works with management and staff in areas of the organization affected by alterations in business practices to ensure understanding and implementation of new policies and procedures.
• Acts as a liaison between corporate and the rest of the organization in matters regarding compliance.
• Coordinates organizational resources for responses to third-party audits.
• Manage compliance department staff to ensure that proper support is provided and that periodic internal Compliance reviews are conducted.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating designated units or certain personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; providing pay change recommendations; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree, masters preferred in a business related discipline and 10+ years of related experience with knowledge of regulations within the financial industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
