The Private Wealth Management (PWM) team is looking for a Director of Product Management, responsible for driving product development, product adoption and evolution of PWM’s performance reporting and analytics platforms. In the near term, this individual will be focused on product management and user adoption of our new performance reporting platform, Addepar. The role will grow to include other reporting and analytics platforms used by our Wealth Managers.
This individual will partner with the PWM Performance Operations team, vendors and partners in PWM technology and PWM business to understand Wealth Manager needs and drive enhancements to the platforms that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the tools. In addition, this individual will be responsible for monitoring industry, competitor and client trends, prioritizing future product evolution, and soliciting/championing the “voice of the user” in planning and design discussions with the vendor and internal partners. This individual will work cross-functionally with our Performance Analytics Operations team, platform vendors, PWM’s technology team and front line producers (Wealth Managers and Client Service Associates). While strategic thinking and coordination are important elements of this role, this individual will be required to take a tactical role with requirements, design, testing, and roll out/adoption with the field.
Responsibilities
• Work with key partners/stakeholders to champion the vision and roadmap of PWM’s performance reporting and analytics platforms.
• Partner with vendors, PWM technology and Operations to execute against the roadmap, deliver enhancements to the platform to meet business and Wealth Manager needs, and drive adoption and usage of the platforms.
• Develop a deep understanding of Wealth Managers and CSAs’ use of the platforms and their needs. Actively solicit and represent the “voice of the user.”
• As a product manager, create sound business requirements, act as liaison with cross functional teams and vendors, provide oversight of deliverables, conduct usability testing, and manage production certifications and deployments in partnership with the PWM technology team and vendors.
• Define and analyze metrics that provide insight into the usage and success of the platforms.
• Optimize the services of our partnered vendors by effectively managing the relationships and their deliverables to meet our high standards.
• Monitor competitive products and industry trends and evolve the product roadmap.
• Keep abreast of regulatory, legal and industry best practices to ensure compliance and an appropriate level of risk in how the platforms are used and managed. Partner closely with Operations, Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, Information Systems, Information Security and Compliance/ Legal to develop and implement appropriate risk management activities.

Qualifications
Education/work experience:
• Undergraduate degree required; MBA preferred
• 12+ years of technology product management experience required in financial services, wealth management preferred
• Strong understanding and experience in managing complex software and vendor platforms in the enterprise environment
Professional skills/ competencies:
• Proficient with product development/design and product management of technology platforms/products, including vendor selection/management, implementation of complex wealth management tools, and roll out/change management activities to drive adoption.
• Strong business orientation with broad experience and understanding of brokerage/wealth management processes.
• Detail-oriented individual who has the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
• Hands-on, ‘roll up your sleeves’ experience.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skill; is able to speak articulately with and in language appropriate for business/front line users (e.g., Wealth Managers), executive management, back office operations employees and technology partners.
• Negotiates skillfully in tough situations with internal and external groups; can be both direct and diplomatic.
