RESPONSIBILITIES
Audit (70%)
Execute the annual audit plan, manage the on-time delivery of operational and Sarbanes-Oxley results, partner with management to develop efficient and effective corrective action plans, and work closely with management to influence improvements in the systems of internal controls
Ability to scope and plan audits around CBRE’s complex financial services and transactions
Leverage technology through the implementation and use of automated analytics
Provide input into the Annual Risk Assessment process as required by the Senior Vice President
Maintain relationships with Finance and Capital Market executive management
Perform pre-implementation reviews for significant changes in the Financial Services environment
Participate in performing FS audit procedures, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issues; research all FS control issues that arise during an audit
Demonstrate a confident and well-developed communication style, both written and spoken, that establishes credibility and facilitates clear understanding of audit issues and influence change where appropriate
Manage or perform ad-hoc management requests and special projects as assigned
Establish and maintain effective working relations and liaise with Finance and Capital Markets management and operational personnel
Manage team staffing and productivity (15%)
Manage and/or execute advanced Financial Services audit services and supervise/mentor FS audit team in the effective design and implementation of work products, scope, execution, work paper review, and reporting
Successfully manage an outsource provider’s FS Audit resources, as necessary
Potentially schedule and manage multiple engagements while performing complex audit projects or sections
Foster a positive work environment and lead teams in the planning, executing, and reporting phases of FS audits
Recruit, train and mentor Internal Audit FS Managers, Senior and Staff employees, as needed
Innovation/Best Practices (15%)
Provides a center of excellence (COE) and advisory service on financial controls to the business, maintains current knowledge of regulatory requirements of CBRE’s Financial services globally
Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of manual and automated controls used to mitigate complex processes and their associated Financial Services risks for both Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Increases auditor efficiency and quality by promoting leading practices for conducting integrated audits and documenting Financial Services risks and automated business controls
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 8+ years accounting / audit experience including experience in an Internal Audit management role or a related field.
Requires a proven track record in leading / managing internal audit teams and complex projects.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or Business Administration required. Advanced degree (MBA or M.S.) desired.
CPA is required
CIA Preferred
Leading and directing IA processes, control evaluations and testing methodologies, and other Financial and Operational Internal Control methodologies and terminology (e.g., COSO), including demonstrated knowledge of the following:
Corporate Governance and Sarbanes Oxley regulations & requirements;
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP");
Financial and operational fraud risk management;
Antifraud internal controls;
IT general and process controls, including Data Privacy and IT security;
Regulatory compliance areas (i.e., SEC, U.S. Patriot Act, FINRA, anti-corruption, anti-bribery, AIFMD, FATCA, etc.); and
Auditor Independence.
Demonstrates extensive recognition as an industry subject matter expert on internal controls, current hot topics and risks, and industry practices, including a proven record of developing thought leadership and sharing lead practices on internal controls, internal audit functions, and Sarbanes Oxley Act compliance readiness programs.
Experience with various financial reporting methodologies.
Proven track record of building solid relationships with management, including demonstrated abilities to approach executives in an organized and knowledgeable manner and to deliver clear requests for information.
Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
Ability to work independently as well as in teams
Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership capabilities
Demonstrated time management and project management skills
Executive presence and strong verbal and written communications skills
Strong team work skills including effective team interactions, providing timely and constructive feedback, negotiating issues and resolving problems
