Are you looking to expand your understanding of financial products and be well versed on the life cycle of a trade Our Trade Management team is seeking a professional who is looking to collaborate with traders, portfolio managers and external counter parties to ensure all trades are communicated, confirmed, and settled to safeguard our clients and funds
Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) is the investment management arm of the firm. The Trade Management team has primary responsibility of mitigating risk throughout all aspects of trade flow, settlement, and collateral management.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
• Prepare to gain a comprehensive understanding of the trade lifecycle by interacting with traders, strategists, clients, and technologists to work toward the shared goal of risk mitigation.
• Connect daily with traders and brokers to resolve issues and ensure timely settlement of trades.
• Understand and improve problem solving capability for complex trade flow, accounting issues, and transactional discrepancies.
• Showcase leadership in project management skills toward aims of improved cross-product support and relationship management.
• Leverage your quantitative skills to decompose processes to improve control and scale of the business.
• Provide reporting to senior leadership and produce insightful analyses of the business upon request for management.
• Grow with the team; develop a deeper understanding of complex transactions and work with our business partners to progress our trade capture capabilities.
• Addition day to day involvement:
◦ Day to day management of middle office teams supporting traders and portfolio managers across products and various Derivatives business units.
◦ Interfacing with wide range of internal and external counter parties as part of ensuring efficient settlement of trading activity.
◦ Problem solving capability for complex trade flow, accounting issues and trade discrepancies, post-trade issues.
◦ Process analysis to improve control, scalability and efficiency.
◦ Providing project management leadership and/or support for new and existing products, with an emphasis on co-operation with Information Technology for the development and enhancement of processes and systems.
◦ Building relationships with outside financial institutions (brokers, custodians, prime broker, Trust Banks and fund administrator) to improve quality and productivity of work, integrating best practices as appropriate.
◦ Providing regular and ad hoc management information on STP rates, risks and volumes.
◦ Proactively identifying opportunities and enhancements to improve functions.
◦ Maintain team procedures and provide regular management reporting to senior Operations managers and the business.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 5 years of professional experience with financial products and people management
• Japanese language proficiency is required as this role will involve interaction with Japanese speaking colleagues and clients
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 5 years' asset management or middle office experience (preferred experience or solid understanding of OTC Derivatives, Equity, Fixed Income and related trade support functions.
• Understanding of industry agenda & platforms (e.g. DTC, SWIFT, DTCC, CTM etc) is a plus.
• Experience in broker and/or client facing activities.
• Capability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive, self-motivated individual with high levels of ownership, and driven to achieve.
• Demonstrates ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve most common problems that arise.
• Demonstrates ability to apply re-engineering methodologies to processes and execute solutions.
• Demonstrate ability to identify inter-relationships and understand the broad impacts of work and projects across the organization.
• Possesses excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interest in Operations and asset management trade support and/or middle office.
