Role Value Proposition:
MetLife has created the Global Employee Benefits (GEB) business unit as the first horizontal P&L to incrementally grow employee benefits around the globe. The Center of Expertise (CoE) within GEB focuses on and drives growth of the Employee Benefits business in local countries as well as for the Global Businesses (Multinational and Worldwide Benefits) through product development and substantive operational improvements. This position will be part of the CoE team and will be responsible for executing GEB growth and business improvement strategies that will drive sustained people, process and technology improvements in regions and countries to help them accelerate their business and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Works with local country management colleagues to create and execute specific business transformation plans and to identify top and bottom line revenue growth opportunities
• Ongoing oversight and maintenance of Worldwide Benefits (Expat) Program Management Office including establishment of basic governance structure and best practices
• Leads broad and complex projects, establishing links between growth strategies and process improvement initiatives that lead to earnings expansion through revenue growth and expense reduction
• Lead and/or participate in teams that develop the potential initiatives, completing the necessary analysis and business cases and ensuring that initiatives align with the region and country strategies
• Ensures appropriate governance of projects and manages/tracks project progress to support short and long term business objectives
• Manages, builds and drives critical relationships with IT, consultants and vendors, internal end users and corporate customers and leadership
• May be responsible for overseeing GOSC and external consulting resources that will be added to augment the team providing day to day guidance and direction to ensure execution results
• Works within a small team in GEB to achieve overall earnings goals
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
• Ability to work in a matrix environment which includes complex reporting structures, influencing decisions and managing resources from across multiple disciplines within the enterprise
• Awareness of global business practices and ability to adapt communication approach to different regions and markets, taking local languages and cultures in consideration
• Possess strong business acumen and market knowledge to influence decisions and drive outcomes
• Ability to present recommendations into a concise format for executive leaders
• Strong relationship building and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt well to ambiguity and changing priorities
• Knowledge of technology system processes, reporting functions and methodologies
• Knowledge in key PC software (Excel, PowerPoint, Access or other databases)
• 8-10+ years of relevant business experience
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
