Description
As a member of Santander’s retail banking division you’ll help serve Santander’s retail and small business customers as part of one of the top banks in the United States based on deposits. With principal presence in the northeast U.S., Santander’s retail division offers consumer and lending products to help our customers reach their financial goals. Santander currently serves nearly 2 million retail customers and 5.2% of the 2.7 million small businesses in the US footprint have a transactional account with Santander Bank.
• The Market Director is responsible for recruiting high quality financial consultants, and providing their team with the supervision and leadership necessary to achieve superior sales results and client satisfaction
• Provide Financial Consultants with all necessary training concerning operations, sales skills, sales reporting, product knowledge, and compliance
• Maintain required professional training and license requirements, including knowledge of NASD compliance, FDIC compliance, the Bank's uninsured Products Policy Statement and all applicable state and federal regulations
• Work with management team to develop and execute business plans in accordance with ISS objectives related to the marketing and distribution of Investment products and services throughout the branch network
• Develop strong relationships with internal business partners by providing program updates, participating in meetings ,and responding to concerns
• Recruit qualified Financial Consultants and hold frequent meetings with individual team members in order to identify coaching opportunities, determine if business development activities are taking place and assess sales performance
• Supervise the Financial Consultant's and Licensed bank Employee's (LBEs) compliance with all applicable bank, broker/dealer, State and Federal regulations associated with the sale of investment and insurance products including Santander Policy Statement
• Coach, mentor and manage assigned team to achieve / exceed the assigned sales and revenue goals
Qualifications
• At least seven years of experience in Investment Services, minimum of three years of supervisory experience
• Sales management experience within the Financial Services industry
• Bachelors or Equivalent Experience
• Other designations or degrees such as an MBA, CFP, CHLU or CHFC preferred
• At least seven years of holding appropriate licenses/certifications: appropriate state insurance licenses and Series 7, 24 and 66 (and/or 63/65) licensing required
• Demonstrated ability to attract, coach, motivate and train staff, and direct reports and Licensed Bankers supporting staff
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills with ability to proactively identify, address and mitigate potential issues
• Demonstrated management skills and have a command of all aspects of the investment and insurance business
• Strong communication, organization, entrepreneurial and leaderships skills
