Vice President, Head of FP&A – GSO Finance
Job Description:
Individual will be working closely with the portfolio management, marketing, risk, operations, technology and accounting teams and will be responsible for the portfolio level reporting and providing the necessary information associated with marketing and client requirements as well as regulatory requirements.
• Develop and oversee a disciplined, structured approach to strategic, operational, and financial planning.
• Manage and counsel professional level employees to drive core Financial Planning and Analysis processes and procedures.
• Continually improve and direct the forecasting processes. This includes partnering with the investment team as well as the portfolio analytics and accounting teams, to ensure an overall process that meets the requirements set by senior management.
• Further develop bi-weekly and quarterly reporting packages including financial performance, key performance metrics and executive level explanations of variances and trends.
• Financial Reporting – Prepare and review materials for Blackstone SEC reporting; Support all areas of segment reporting; Support Blackstone consolidation groups to ensure proper segment reporting
• Manage and enhance the GSO operating model to create firm forecasts and projections – the operating model projects all types of cash flows for every GSO product incorporating over $93 billion in AUM
• Execute ad hoc requests and facilitate financial impact analysis for special projects and initiatives.
• Lead the annual profitability analysis required for each of the firm’s products
Qualifications:
• 10+ total year of experience with at least 3+ years of specific financial planning and analysis experience at an alternative asset manager
• Bachelors in Business, Accounting, Economics, Math, a related field, or the equivalent work experience. Masters degree in Finance, Economics, Advanced Mathematics or similar discipline are a plus, but not required.
• Ability to establish controls around financial data used in executive management information
