Digital Operational Risk, Wealth Management – Vice President, Infrastructure
The Digital Operational Risk unit is a first line of defense function responsible for overseeing the operational risk and controls of Wealth Management’s new Digital business line. The Vice President, Infrastructure, reports to the unit’s Executive Director and serves as the Business Unit Information Security Officer (BUISO) for the Digital business. In this capacity, the Vice President, Infrastructure, is responsible for executing controls and processes that promote the security of client and business data, in partnership with the firm’s functional support areas such as Technology Information Risk (TIR). This position also oversees risk management of vendors/suppliers and business continuity planning, with the support of an Assistant Vice President.
The Vice President, Infrastructure, is generally responsible for the following:
Information Security
• Thoroughly understanding the Digital business’s applications
• Setting, periodically reviewing, and (as needed) revoking employee
entitlements or access to data
• Implementing segregation of duties (e.g., separate roles for approvers and
authorizers of business processes)
• Monitoring that entitlements are being used by employees for intended
purposes
• Preventing data leakage (e.g., reviewing emails sent outside of firm systems)
• Maintaining data, as needed
• Coordinating conformance with privacy policies
• Assessing and improving information security policies and procedures
• Supporting the Digital business’s efforts to obtain risk acceptances, as needed
• Assisting with the response and reporting of information security incidents
Vendor/Supplier Risk Management
• Partner with Digital business leaders to facilitate the proper on-boarding of new
vendors and suppliers using firm systems and processes, which include
security architecture and information security reviews
• Coordinate the performance of periodic reviews and risk discussions with
vendors
• Review related controls and their documentation Business Continuity Planning
• Develop and maintain plans for employee communication in the event of a
natural disaster or systems outage
• Participate in the response and recovery effort as needed, including
performing impact analysis
• Execute table top scenarios on a periodic basis in order to test the business
continuity plan
Qualifications
• At least 8 years of experience in financial services technology, with a focus on
information security
• Extensive experience with customer-facing applications; wealth management
related applications preferred
• Demonstrated flexibility in a changing business environment
• Comfort working with business, functional, and other risk management
stakeholders
• Strong communications skills
• Team player with a track record of partnering with colleagues and mentoring
junior employees
• Self-starter with a can-do approach and delivery focused mind set
• Detail-oriented and accurate
• Bachelor’s Degree
