Job Summary & Responsibilities
Duties: Vice President, Associate-Intermediate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Salt Lake City, UT. Vice President within the Firm’s Global Mobility Services (GMS) business unit, which is part of the Human Capital Management (HCM) division. Closely collaborate with global GMS, divisional Chief Financial Officers (CFO), Business Partners, Accounts Payable, Compensation Accounting, Tax, Accounting and outside vendors located across the globe, to manage various GMS finance activities. Responsible for end-to-end global compensation and tax reporting for mobility expenses, including: reconciliation of expenses maintained by relocation vendors, Firm’s travel vendors and Travel & Expense systems; reporting these amounts to Compensation Accounting; and ensuring amounts are captured correctly as income on assignees’ compensation statements. Oversee proprietary invoice and payment processes, general ledger reconciliations and account journal entry postings. Maintain general ledger accounts to ensure compliance with GAAP standards. Monitor and report monthly expenditures /costs and summarize variances to regional controllers and divisional CFO teams. Leverage advanced understanding of Firm’s mobility policies and proprietary technologies to project mobility costs during month and year-end (i.e., relocation and compliance-related vendor spend, cash lump sum payments / allowance, etc.). Provide oversight to balance sheet substantiation process ensuring accurate reporting of Firm’s mobility-related assets and liabilities. Utilize Firm’s proprietary expense management technologies to drive expense management initiatives - promote cost transparency and process efficiencies, develop budget-to-actual analysis, etc. Ownership of mobility-related return on investment (ROI) analysis to divisions including attrition, promotion and performance reviews. Maintain and enhance Excel-based macro-enabled mobility metrics tool based on business requirement. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies and processes. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Accounting or Business. Will accept single degree or any combination of degrees/certifications and/or professional experience that are equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have extensive knowledge of Accounting, including GAAP standards. Must have two (2) years of experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools. Must have experience with: global mobility programs in a multi-national corporation; mobility-related financial planning, forecasting, analytics and reporting; Microsoft Office applications, including strong proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Visual Basic; and experience designing and building macro-enabled tools in Microsoft Excel; utilizing SAP, Oracle, Essbase and Business Objects tools to extract, reconcile and analyze a firm’s financials (costs and budget); utilizing strong analytical skills to evaluate and share a firm’s mobility volumes and costs to internal stakeholders; and auditing accruals, invoices, and cost projections.
