Job Summary & Responsibilities
We are looking for an Experienced HR professional for the position of an APAC Revenue division Business Partner (BP) in the Human Capital Management (HCM) division. The role reports into the head of HCM business partners and country managers, and is based in Hong Kong. Working closely with the team of BPs based in the Asia Pacific region and across the globe, the role provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Generalist to join a dynamic global HCM team, and to partner strategically with the revenue business in which you will support.
Responsibilities:
This role is a critical HR Business Partner, providing extensive HR solutions and strategy to a particular assigned revenue division of the firm. The HR BP will be a partner to the business on a wide variety of people-focused activities, both strategic and transactional, including: Management of the annual compensation, promotion, high potential and succession planning processes for the division in Asia.
There is a strong partnership with HCM colleagues within the APAC functional teams as well as the global divisional HCM teams to provide tailored solutions in areas such as campus and experienced recruiting, professional development, and diversity.
More broadly, the HR BP acts both as the advocate of the divisional client with HCM to ensure that the people-related needs are considered and met, and also as the representative to the divisional client on HCM services, including those mentioned above and in Wellness, Employee Relations, Benefits, Mobility and Diversity. The HR BPs will be closely involved in various HR transactions on a regular basis, including nomination and selection for development programs, performance management, promotions, compensation and global mobility.
Basic Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who is eager to succeed in a hands-on, high-volume, and challenging role. A number of years of prior HR experience in a global organization are essential, with strong preference for HR BP experience. Building partnerships with senior business leaders, leading projects and programs, building consensus and facilitating dialogues are key factors for success so candidates should have a proven record of successfully delivering solutions through a group/team approach.
The successful candidate is likely to be:
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and execution skills able to plan, manage and respond to a diverse range of concurrent issues, projects and deadlines in a timely and efficient manner
• Strong communication skills – able to regularly and proactively engage with senior leaders, managers and employees, as well as regional and global colleagues on the full range of HCM initiatives and issues. Strong client engagement skills – understands the commercial drivers of a business, is an idea generator, is responsive, and works collaboratively
• Commercially astute, with a solid understanding of financial services fundamentals and what drives them
• A self-starter – able to identify issues and opportunities, as develop a pathway to resolution drawing on skill and expertise of peers and colleagues as needed;
• Calm and pragmatic with good judgment – experience identifying, escalating and dealing with complex and challenging issues and situations
• Creative and willing to try new ideas
• Experience of managing small teams or leading teams on projects and programs
• Working knowledge of HR practices in Asia; an understanding of at least one of the lines of HR practice would be a benefit
• Fluent in English, comfortable and able to work with senior management of the division and with global team-members; Mandarin or other Asian languages are preferred but not essential
• Solid analytical skills, able to interpret data to identify underlying issues
• Intermediate to advance Excel skills
• Recent or current experience working in a regional or global fast paced and global environment, experience of the global financial services industry would be a benefit
