What is the opportunity?
Reporting directly to our Senior VP of IT Risk Center of Governance, you will serve as the Subject Matter Expert for all IT Risk internal and external communications
What will you do?
• Communication Strategy: Develop, implement, and maintain strategy, as well as tools and templates, to ensure IT Risk CoG content is delivered using a consistent and appropriate approach following Enterprise best practices.
• Communication Plan/Calendar: Develop annual communication plan/calendar of events for the IT Risk CoG
• Annual Business Survey: Develop and manage the annual Business Satisfaction Survey
• Presentations: Produce quarterly presentations for the Board of Directors/Sub-Boards and Regional Risk & Audit Committees of the Board on Cyber Security.
• Events: Manage all aspects of Quarterly Town Halls, including and IT Risk CoG Monthly All Hands Calls and corresponding employee surveys.
• Support the SVP, IT Risk CoG with effective internal/external communications including: presentations, messages, and remarks.
• Provide strategic advice and counsel to IT Risk CoG about stakeholder communication plans and tactics to address transformational initiatives, reputational issues and opportunities.
• Identify and highlight/escalate potential adverse implications of changes being communicated.
• Guide, coach and prepare leaders in developing presentations to various governing bodies.
• Anticipate and address reputational issues with significant potential for negative impact to RBC brand.
• Translate complex technical messages into material that is appropriate for a variety of audiences with varying levels of understanding of IT services.
• Strengthen the linkage of employees’ day-to-day contributions and their impact on the RBC client experience and financial results.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
• A seasoned professional with a minimum of 15+ years of strategic communication experience including employee communications, reputation management, media relations and change management communications within a global organization
• Proven outstanding writing skills and the ability to develop large-scale communication initiatives which are critical to manage risk and support business priorities
• Expertise in developing communications strategies that utilize a variety of techniques and media to deliver content in a meaningful way
• Development of metrics to measure effectiveness of materials delivered
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in change management
• Strong problem solving, analytical and research skills
Nice-to-have
• Financial industry experience is a strong asset
