Our Finance department is seeking a Lead Financial Analyst, Expense Management & Analytics, to join our growing team in our Worcester, MA office.
Position summary:
Working in a business-interfacing finance role, providing financial analysis and consultative support to the Leadership team at The Hanover to drive business decisions. Operating with considerable independence, drive strategic initiatives, coordinate and support annual financial planning, prepare monthly reports and analytics, act as a thought partner and collaborate with management and other finance/accounting teams, lead projects, research variances and present findings to the business. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to think critically, analyze effectively and communicate efficiently.
This is a Full-time, Exempt role.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
•Monthly Reporting – Perform standard reporting with excellent attention to detail. Coordinate the monthly close process and financial reporting requirements.
•Analysis & Interpretation – Deliver accurate reporting and in-depth analytics. Drive the development of analytical models to forecast and understand short and long term trends.
•Presentations – Ability to pull together financial information and summarize in a concise manner to report to Leadership.
•Planning & Forecasting – Coordinate and support annual financial planning cycle with business partners and Segment Financial Officers.
•Supports adhoc requests from management and business partners.
•Drive Quality Improvements- Makes recommendations to management regarding process improvements, data analytics and reporting capabilities to create efficiencies and streamline reporting.
•Systems Knowledge- Proactively maintains an understanding of the strategic direction for financial system applications and any significant changes to significant systems, data sources and/or data flows amongst systems.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred or equivalent work experience.
•4+ years of experience working in an analysis and/or finance environment
•Strong communication skills with an ability to obtain and analyze information and draw business solutions
•Able to concisely and effectively deliver insights, recommendations, and results to management
•Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, and reporting on large amounts of data
•High level of curiosity to explore, learn and understand business information and excellent attention to detail
•Proficient PC skills: Microsoft Office Excel (pivot tables, function logic, and lookup/reference formulas and charts)
•Ability to operate with considerable independence. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with various company personnel from multiple departments.
