Summary:
Risk Data Development Lead within the ISA Risk Technology organization oversees the delivery of data services through a new Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) being built on AWS/Cloud. The data lead owns development, roll out and testing of data integration between EDP & Risk Downstream applications & Reporting platforms. The Data Lead will not only contribute to projects involving current state warehouse(s) / data stores / data marts by working closely with delivery teams but also will work closely with the new team of Business Users, Architects, System Integrators,, and Developers that are building and supporting EDP using AWS.
Major Responsibilities:
Primary job responsibilities involve supporting ingestion, transformation & serving pipelines that handles data for analytical or operational uses across Risk business areas and Risk data domains.
• Lead, manage, plan, design, document, develop, test, implement, monitor, maintain, and support Risk Data platforms, including subject area marts and interfaces to downstream applications.
• Function as ETL SME and supply business and technical knowledge on required subject-areas and systems.
• Develop and maintain complex ETL mappings, workflows, and UNIX shell scripts in a data warehouse/data mart environment, based on technical specifications and other supporting documentation, using Informatica PowerCenter, Unix Shell Scripts, advanced SQL, and Cisco’s Tidal / Autosys Enterprise Scheduler.
• Perform DUT/SIT/UAT/DR/regression testing activities.
• Handle user inquiries and production support.
• Conduct trainings and knowledge sharing sessions.
• Support ISA Risk Technology Departments initiatives as required.
• Early identification of development issues and corrective action to mitigate issues is required with these responsibilities. Apply Risk Identification, Risk Reduction, and Risk Mitigation techniques. .
• Develop detail-level design documents from functional requirements and adhere to the development and naming standards established.
• Provide ETL technical guidance or mentoring. Estimating, Planning, Organizing and assigning tasks to various team members.
• Participate in the rollout of any changes to the production environment and the setting of new standards using change control, documentation, and full communication with the operations and support
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience in design, development, and implementation with distributed applications involving Data Warehouses and Data Marts.
• 6+ years of data integration experience in a lead role, preferably in financial services industry.
• Must have 6+ years of Informatica ETL experience in both batch and real-time or near real-time data integration
• Conversant with Metadata driven architectures (metadata tagging, data classifications, lineage, discovery)
• 5+ years of experience in data modeling, data design and persistence (e.g. warehousing, data marts, data lakes).
• Experience with Big Data approaches and technologies including: Hadoop, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Hive, Oozie (experience with Angular JS/HTML5/Node JS are big plus).
• Experience with SQL (MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL(MongoDB/HBase/ReDis) database is expected.
• Understanding of AWS Data Services like RDS, Redshift, S3, Athena, Glue, Kinesis, EMR
• Experience with one or more RDBMS platforms (DB2, Oracle, etc.) is a must
• Exposure to programming languages/tools including: C#, Java, Python, Ruby, Scala, SQL and scripting (Java, Python, Spark, SQL, Hive, JavaScript, Shell).
• Has led, or been directly involved with, the investigation and resolution of incidents and complex data issues in a production setup. Offer counsel on risk mitigation and the alignment of data solution with objectives.
• Strong experience in Creating Data Flow Pipeline using Informatica ETL tool
• Proven ability to communicate ideas and obtain buy-in with audiences at various technical and business levels
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT management, and engineers
