The Senior Data Quality Specialist will be responsible for leading the execution of our Data Quality program. Person in this role will set up procedures and data quality assessment monitors to proactively measure data quality of key elements, as well as perform day-to-day Data Quality checks. Senior Data Quality Specialist will work closely with Global Data Manager to identify critical data elements and work on formulating data standards. They will also work with other departments to address day to day data quality issues and perform complex data analysis in support of the business. This person will be responsible for leading a formal data quality program to include reporting and analysis, as well as a liaison with key data suppliers. The person in this role will ensure Data Quality against established data standards and best practices for data provisioning and data integration. This is a hands-on role.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Work with Global Data Manager, business users and IT management to identify, document, and address data quality issues
• Lead conversations for DQ process enhancements and document it to enhance controls and techniques
• Identify and implement processes and mechanisms to enrich key data attributes
• Recommend and track enhancements to systems-of-record to improve accuracy of data
• Recommend enhancements to data acquisition processes to improve accuracy of data in Salesforce and other related systems
• Work with software development team to ensure that data rules are being supported and properly maintained in every new application release
• Profile the data to discover anomalies
• Develop, document, promulgate, and maintain data quality goals, standards, and processes
• Recommend and support enhancements to existing data quality reports and Recommend creation of new reports
• Identify opportunities for data alignment and re-use across systems
• Proactively support DQ process assessment and identify preventative measures
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Develop processes, controls and templates to support master data maintenance
• Provide root cause analysis of issues caused by errors in master data and lead efforts to implement preventive measures
• Validate completeness of data requests, ensuring all required data fields are provided and attributes are consistent with similar parts or vendors
• Identify data quality issues and see through to resolution.
• Validate data integrity at various levels within Salesforce and other systems starting from source data to end user reports
Skills and Knowledge:
• Highly proficient with understanding and writing SQL queries
• Experience working with advanced Excel functionality (e.g., macros, formulas)
• Ability to detect patterns across multiple data quality issues, and identify resolutions
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Detail understanding of Entity Relations diagrams
• Knowledge of Salesforce a definite advantage
• Knowledge of data integrations and Data Quality tools
• Working knowledge of Tableau is huge plus
• Must be able to support change and be able to communicate effectively
• Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
Education and Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in Data Quality management
• MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Data Management, or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid technical background with hands-on experience with SQL and Tableau
• Experience working with Salesforce a definite plus
• Experience working in the financial services industry, investment banking, or similar professional services organizations preferred
