The Lexington Casualty Underwriting Manager, Southeast will be responsible for the overall portfolio of Casualty business for the Southeast Zone. This role has both strategic and tactical components in the execution of the overall vision for the Casualty portfolio for the division within the Zone, with ownership of all aspects of the P&L, including pricing, marketing, staffing, business development and budgeting.

You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.
• Build and lead a team of Casualty underwriters primarily focused on E&S wholesale business for General Casualty; Product Liability; Product Recall; Construction; Public Entity; and Transportation
• Drive underwriting excellence across the business through underwriting discipline and quality assurance through collaboration with national Product Line Managers, Actuarial and Operations
• Demonstrate understanding of regulatory and compliance processes and ensure AIG stakeholders understand the Lexington Casualty business model, underwriting methodology, and the risks we assume
• Establish strong relationships with regional leadership; create mutual understanding of overall parameters and goals to drive effective execution of the business model
• Market-facing leadership, including building broker relationships, contributing to building a pipeline of bindable business and account stewardship
• Attract and retain top industry talent, and develop underwriters’ skillsets to position them for wider responsibilities
• Drive a culture that promotes collaboration, diversity and inclusion
What we are looking for

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• 10+ years of Commercial Insurance underwriting and/or brokerage experience, preferably in E&S
• Minimum 3 years staff management
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
• Planning, budgeting and forecasting experience
• Primary GL and Excess Umbrella expertise
• Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and wholesale distribution
