Description
This position is responsible for executing the company’s social media and content marketing strategy and requires a prolific and talented content creator to write and produce various projects, blog regularly and develop our online communities in order to expand the company’s digital footprint, awareness, and ultimately, leads. Lead development of communications tactics and editorial content in social channels based on marketing objectives, client/partner agencies’ input and consumer feedback. Drive engagement and online conversation through social channels. Generate social campaigns in coordination with content group, sponsorships, foundation and internal communications. Act as editorial checkpoint and maintain consistency of brand / brand representatives voice. Ensure all client brand guidelines as well as legal, privacy, content, etc., are adhered to. Provide analytics support to inform strategic approach. Collaborate with team members to achieve maximum results across all online channels. This role requires a high degree of creativity, attention to detail and project management skills. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, conscientious and committed to accuracy, with a proven track record in social media and content marketing. This individual must be proactive, resourceful, flexible and able to handle multiple priorities without jeopardizing quality of execution.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Friendly, diplomatic, personable self-starter with the willingness and desire to take initiative and perform with excellence
• Demonstrate creativity and excellent written communications skills
• Strong background in original writing and editing in conjunction with advertising or marketing campaigns to help support content initiatives
• Manage team of freelancers and support content development across channels
• Create and execute interactive social media campaigns, driving awareness and engagement
• Will support editorial efforts to disseminate content across channels and target audiences to create story arcs
• Will support migration of existing content and development of new content for channels such as podcasts, voice search/Skills/Actions
• Support efforts to publish on blogs, social news sites, video/photo sharing tools, and social networking applications
• Manage Protective Life brand social media channels; ensuring brand governance and consistency of voice, visual design, and cultural values throughout channelsCreate, edit, manage and deploy daily organic content and campaigns for LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook; manage content calendar, social media management platform, and other social media programs and initiatives
• Ability to think and execute both textually and graphically (e.g. Canva)
• Experience with curation, programming, monitoring, engagement, and analytics platforms (e.g. Hootsuite, Facebook Insights, Sprinklr, Percolate, Spredfast, Meltwater, etc.)
• Generate brand community dialogue, buzz and interaction
• Perform community management tasks as needed
• Analyze and report on engagement, making recommendations for campaigns and strategies to increase engagement in online channels
• Develop ongoing editorial calendar, curating content and supervising external writers
• Support advertising and promotional campaigns, including limited development work within social media application templates
• Facilitate social media training across enterprise, including sessions with senior leadership as necessary
• Maintain a master list of social channels, access codes and account owners
• Assist in identifying influencers across lines of business and initiatives
• Ensure channel engagement aligns with processes for compliance and legal review, maintains relationships across those departments and ensures those partners are aware and involved as appropriate in channel activities
• Will interface with and coordinate activities across Marketing departments
• Coordinate with content and digital strategy teams to repurpose and optimize existing content and platforms
• Contextualize Protective Life social media stories and strategies in a way that is relevant and helpful to defined audiences
• Liaise with marketing partners to leverage existing marketing / media programs to grow brand community. Monitor active community growth and attrition, with recommendations for possible course correction
• Ongoing and quarterly analytics reporting, including sentiment analysis through monitoring platform
• Provide regular content and engagement summary reports
• Proactively communicate issues, opportunities and insights to the team.
• Good sense of etiquette and brand appropriateness.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field
• Strong knowledge of and interest in social media; knowledge and experience with software programs and channel management tools is preferred
• Working knowledge of social media at the enterprise level and inbound marketing strategies
• Experience publishing or participating in blogs, social networking sites
• Minimum of 5 - 7 years of creative, editorial and social media experience
• Prior experience in managing social channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Pinterest
• Keen understanding of the dynamics of content dissemination and content marketing across multiple channels
• Experience managing high volume of content development and publishing a plus
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
• Strong organization skills
• Strong short-form copywriting, business writing, storytelling, and communications skills.
• Command of AP-style guidelines with ability to proofread and edit copy
• Ability to operate in a systemic and logical manner, with use of good judgment
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and to remain graceful under pressure
• Proactive, self-starter who can work well both independently and as part of a team
• Organized, accurate and attention to detail
