Responsible for all aspects of employee relations within the organization and works with all Human Resources team members to ensure the functional areas such as, leaves of absence, Family medical leave, workers compensation and unemployment are being maintained as required. Reviews and maintains the company’s compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws. In addition, this position helps coordinate wellness and recognition programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coach, counsel and guides operational management through the disciplinary and termination process.
• Facilitate performance review process for the company
• Monitors and maintains all Department of Labor unemployment notices, potential charges, coach and guide operational management through the hearing process prior to attending hearing, attends hearings as required, maintains the monthly experience rating report for accuracy of claims charged to the company’s accounts
• Monitors and maintains I-9 eligibility for all employees, ensuring federal compliance is maintained on a consistent basis for potential agency audits
• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining proper reporting of all workers compensation injuries through the claims management service, ensures all documentation is received from the injured employee and the employee maintained compliance within the state requirements for reporting a workers compensation injury and monitors any open cases for potential issues
• Responsible for monitoring, maintaining the company’s leave of absence and Family Medical Leave benefits. Ensures all human resources team members are notified of the potential or ongoing status of leave for each employee. Partners with third party administrator and as a liaison to the employee. Responds to all requests for leave with formal documentation. Reviews the leave requirements with each employee and manager prior to the commencement of the leave. Creation and communication of reports
• Facilitates reasonable accommodation requests from employees and monitors handicap parking compliance
• Responsible for coordination of Benefit Open Enrollment, materials, questions and communications
• Coordination and communication of non-traditional benefits
• Handle employee issues and concerns, including back up to the We Listen Hotline
• Monitors and maintains all employment records within the organization for all divisions.
• Assists HR Management responses to any pending litigation suits filed against the company
• Maintain compliance with all required HR legal posting requirements
• Coordination and support of the company Charity and/or Wellness programs and activities.
• Lead company recognition programs of Link to Excellence, Service Awards, Employee Appreciation events
• All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in personnel/Human Resources management or 3 - 5 years related experience
• Practical work experience within employee relations area
• Knowledge of employment laws and practices
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with personal computers
