The Role
As a part-time Customer Care Associate, you will be responsible for providing telephone customer service as a primary point of contact for Lincoln Financial producers, policyholders, and authorized third parties, while meeting quality and productivity expectations. You will handle or refer inquires in a professional and efficient, ensuring accuracy and effective follow-through.
This part-time position operates Monday and Tuesday from 11:00am – 5:00pm; and Wednesday thru Friday from 11:00am – 2:00pm.
Responsibilities
Customer Engagement
• Answers inbound customer service calls and handles customer inquiries related to basic life insurance policies
• Analyzes customer information retrieved from multiple computer systems
• Identifies and authenticates callers using established procedures
• Enters information into the multiple computer systems based on the customer's inquiry
• Refers customer inquiries to other departments via phone or on-line as appropriate to the situation
• Provides detailed information related to life insurance policies, coverage, beneficiaries, account balances
Communication and Teamwork
• Consults with Senior Customer Care Professional and/or Associate Manager to resolve complex customer inquiries
• Excellent telephone speaking voice
• Excellent use of English language
• Ability to communicate in writing in a clear and professional manner with internal colleagues
Compliance Duties and Quality Standards
• Demonstrate dependability, flexibility and sound judgment by adhering to schedules and meeting all productivity, quality and performance standards as well as taking ownership for your actions
• Carry out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines
• Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining targeted productivity levels, handling times, and accuracy and net promoter scores
• Comply with all company site policies and procedures
Education
• High School diploma/GED or minimum Associate’s Degree in lieu of required experience
Experience
• 0-1 year of general experience – need not be directly related to the position
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrates aptitude for learning new systems and processes
• Customer service and/or financial services experience preferred
• Basic skills in MS Word and Outlook as well as using multiple software applications preferred
• A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations
• Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions
• Drives performance targets to completion
