The PR Manager is responsible for managing and executing public relations strategies and tactics relating to all American Eagle Outfitters Inc. products and brands.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and leverage relationships with fashion, lifestyle and entertainment media on behalf of American Eagle Outfitters Inc.
• Develop creative PR story ideas and angle to secure coverage for focus brands.
• Write materials including news releases, key messages, Q&A documents and media pitches.
• Liaise with key AE internal and external partners, such as merchandising and design, to support public relations and marketing initiatives.
• Collaborate with other members of the marketing team to identify and develop placement opportunities within fashion, digital platforms, television, film, music, and other entertainment events.
• Ensure proper integration of specific AE products into larger marketing, entertainment and philanthropic initiatives.
• Monitor social media trends and remain current with latest platforms.
• Remain current with fashion trends, pop culturally relevant events, entertainment industry, and all media platforms.
• Liaise with internal merchant partners to secure timely arrival of samples and product orders.
• Manage external agency relationships, as appropriate.
• Manage results and media impressions.
• Organize and oversee PR office and fulfillment of team projects, including administrative responsibilities.
• Pitch new product launches, story ideas and corporate initiatives to press.
• Secure press coverage and pitch new stories (trends, all company programs and initiatives).
• Conduct showroom appointments with press, editors, stylists and bloggers.
• Partner with store teams to conduct store pulls.
• Coordinate seasonal lookbooks and online press room.
• Help plan, produce and execute seasonal press presentations and product mailings.
• Create and maintain fashion, media and celebrity lists.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Approximately 4-5 years of fashion public relations experience.
• Significant media and industry analyst contacts and successful track record for proactive media relations.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Understanding of integrated marketing communications and brand marketing.
• Team player and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
• Respect and management of precious resources (both time and money).
• Outstanding attention to detail.
• Passion for excellence and strong work ethic.
• Strong interest in fashion and social media
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
