Main purpose of the position:
The Assistant Product Developer will utilize his or her organizational skills to maintain product specifications, communicate with vendors, and support the team in the concept through production process. This position will support various aspects of the Design/Development process through close partnerships and consistent communication to ensure the development process runs efficiently. This is a permanent full time role for a candidate who comprehends deadlines and has strong organization skills that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Major Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assist with updates to weekly WIP reports for multiple seasons simultaneously to maintain accurate information that is used by cross-functional partners
• Partner with the Assistants to track, unpack, distribute samples and approvals throughout development process which includes support with all TOP check-ins
• Assist with filing and maintaining fabric and trim binders
• Assist Associate Product Developer in day to day functions
• Enter into PC system and maintain (check-ins, line guides, updates, costs, status)
• Assist with coding and submitting development invoices
• Support with buy meeting preparations
• Support with maintaining the Product Development trim library
• Assist with the factory costing and update cost in Product Consoles
• Support with console data accuracy
• Complete ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by management
Competencies:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
• Possess strong knowledge in garment construction and specifications
• Must be highly organized and detail oriented
• Team player and ability to multitask
• Flexible and adaptable to a very fast-paced environment
• Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 10 lbs., perform frequent repetitive finger, hand and wrist motions, as well as bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum 1+years working in a similar role
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator + Photoshop
• Excellent computer skills including Excel and Internet research
• Must be able to perform efficiently with tight deadlines
• Deadline focused and goal driven
Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree in Fashion, Product Development or similar field
• Some experience in PLM system
• Strong fabric knowledge
• Strong analytical and decision making skills
