The Strategic Marketing Manager will be responsible for spearheading, developing, implementing and championing marketing strategies and comprehensive 360-degree marketing programs to support key strategic categories and priorities of Benefit’s business. The Strategic Marketing Manager will collaborate with internal cross-functional teams while working closely with international marketing teams to ensure implementation, best practices, and results sharing. In addition, the Strategic Marketing Manager will collaborate with the Sr. Director to develop and execute key strategic initiatives that support Benefit’s Long-Term Plan, while ensuring adherence to Benefit’s unique DNA. The Manager will be responsible for managing and mentoring direct report(s) on the global strategic marketing team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead, develop, and champion global, integrated marketing strategies and comprehensive 360-degree marketing programs to support key strategic categories of Benefit’s business.
• Create comprehensive global marketing plans and campaign briefs for new product launches and marketing campaigns, including campaign positioning, messaging, target consumer profiles and promotional tactics.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to drive creation of 360 marketing programs and assets, including developing critical path milestones and ensuring on-time delivery. Project management is a critical part of this role.
• Partner with global marketing directors and their teams to ensure strong local support to achieve launch & growth goals.
• Foster strong relationships with international market teams to drive implementation of global marketing strategies and plans, identify best practices, facilitate markets’ sharing, communicating and learning from each other, and measure marketing activity results across key metrics.
• Collaborate with the Sr. Director to identify and implement strategic initiatives and/or partnerships that will continue to support the Benefit DNA and Long-Term Plan.
• Analyze results of launches, critical marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives and provide recommendations based on findings.
• Perform market research to understand key category dynamics, consumer insights, competitive landscape, customer segmentation and be able to provide recommendations and develop strategies based on key findings.
• Think outside of the box! Develop innovative and creative new marketing ideas that align with Benefit’s unique DNA, by actively researching and tracking consumer and category trends.
• Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports on the global strategic marketing team
• All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 6-8 years in consumer product (CPG) marketing or brand management experience required. Beauty or luxury brand experience preferred.
• Experienced in strategic brief writing and development.
• Prior management experience required.
• BA/BS in business, marketing, or equivalent required; MBA preferred.
Other Requirements:
• Strong passion for the beauty/cosmetics industry.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to think both creatively and strategically.
• Strong project management experience with proven organizational skills, time management skills, multi-tasking ability, high level of detail orientation and ability to implement and execute projects to ensure on time delivery.
• Ability to influence and work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with several different departments & across all levels of the organization
• Ability to perform analyses in Excel, interpret data, and provide recommendations.
• Proactive approach to all tasks and projects; show initiative to drive results and solve problems.
• Must possess outstanding presentation and communication skills (oral and written).
• Strong proficiency in working with Microsoft software suite of products.
