Director, LSA Strategy
JOB DESCRIPTION
The role will define and own the strategic direction of LSA markets in both the long term and short term, in collaboration with the President and Regional Leadership team. This encompasses financial targets as well as strategic actions.
Key Responsibilities
• Define regional and geo-specific strategies that drive profitable growth and market share gains, in collaboration with the President and Leadership Team
• Drive and own the strategic business planning process for the region. Partner with Finance on the annual financial planning process. Partner with LSA Leadership Team to identify annual business objectives & priorities
• Gather pan-region and market-specific intelligence (country, consumer, competitor) by engaging the Market Insights team and draw appropriate insights and conclusions to help inform individual Geo strategies and actions
• Drive on-going in-market tests in direct partnership with the LSA Leadership Team & Market Insights Team; distill actionable insights & provide recommendations regarding go-forward implications & implementation
• Evaluate and capitalize on incremental opportunities for top line and bottom line growth, across all channels ; Evaluate and recommend operational and process improvements to maximize volume and margin potential
• Structure and drive key regional commercial operations meetings in support of the LSA President and the LSA Leadership Team. Own the cadence and agenda of these meetings to ensure that they focus on issue resolution and knowledge sharing
• Partner/ work collaboratively with business leaders to identify key questions or issues facing the business. Structure analyses and ensure effective leverage of insights to define solutions. Ensure alignment with other functions/pillars, wherever appropriate. For each potential program or solution, evaluate project attractiveness (market/external) and feasibility
• Act as a program & project leader on major strategic initiatives. Lead and manage cross-functional teams during the diagnosis/evaluation, design/development, implementation planning, and execution phases
• Develop tools to ensure functional integration, and track delivery of cross functional accountabilities in order to anticipate and resolve potential issues. Collaborate with other business unit leads to ensure effective transition that minimizes risk to the business
• Influence team members and drive project outcomes
• Lead team of direct reports including project managers and analysts
Skills & Qualifications:
• 8-10 years of corporate strategy, consulting, and/or investment banking experience with a focus on CPG, HPC or Consumer Retail; MBA preferred
• Deep understanding of the value chain for a manufacturing and marketing/sales business, including the value drivers across the chain
• Exceptional analytical and presentation skills
• Ability to interpret complex analysis into actionable plans
• Action-oriented with the ability to create opportunities or avoid future problems
• Ability to communicate at all levels, across multiple functions and drive participation and collaboration
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to meet new requirements and a dynamic job environment
• Strong project management skills
