The Web Content Development team within Gap Inc. is responsible for creating a best in class digital and brand experience today – and ideating how our customers will interact with our brands tomorrow. The work of our Customer Strategy Team impacts all brands. Your work will impact millions of people worldwide who love our iconic brands.
This position supports the family of Gap Inc. brands’ eCommerce teams by developing, coding, deploying and modifying responsive marketing content to the site.

Here’s what you will do all summer!
·W3C standards-based HTML5/CSS3 and JavaScript and jQuery development and site production
·Create and maintain HTML5/CSS3 designs complying with contemporary responsive, mobile-first standards; conforming to specific accessibility guidelines with an eye for cross browser and platform compatibility for online marketing initiatives
·MaintainHTML 4 & 5/XHTML/CSS/JavaScript for existing web sites[DM1]
·Troubleshoot coding issues and bugs
·Manage Digital Assets
·Collaborate with Design team to incorporate visual design into functional web pages
·Work in close partnerships with other Web Content Developers, brand production teams and brand web design to create incredible digital experiences
Can this be consolidated?
Here’s what you need to get the work done
·Undergraduate or graduate student with one year or less left to graduate in Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology, Integrated Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering or related degree with a GPA of 3.0 or above
·Experience with Web production tools, Adobe Photoshop and coding in HTML5/CSS3 (including, box-model, iframes, meta tags, transitions/transformations) with an eye to performance.
·Experience with JavaScript and front-end frameworks like React, or Jquery
Nice to Haves
·Mobile web development, jQuery or React experience, and cross-platform and browser compatibility issues a plus
·Ecommerce site development experience and User Interface design background preferred
·Familiar with SEO compliancy
·Fluent in HTML/XHTML versions through 4.0 (including forms, frames, complex tables, meta tags)
·Ability to program and troubleshoot JavaScript code and client-side image maps
·Proficient with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to include CSS positioning and table-less layouts
·Experience with various Version Control Software (CVS, Subversion, VSS)
