MISSION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Description:
The Vice President of In-Store is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process enabling our Consumer Beauty Cosmetic brands to be the brands that shoppers choose the most in mass market cosmetics. The role is responsible for leading a team to strategically lead and coordinate the strategy development, fixture design form/fit/function, financial and operational planning and in-store labor execution for COVERGIRL, Sally Hansen, and Rimmel.
This position is extremely broad as it spans from big picture vision development to customer selling and negotiation, cross-functional P&L planning, Third Party Vendor Management and Operations and supply chain logistics. The role sits within the Trade Marketing organization of Consumer Beauty US and is part of the US Sales Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the In-Store Strategy, and Development and Planogramming team, including In-Store Strategy and Plangramming team and In-Store Fixture design sub-teams;
• The hiring, training, developing, and coaching of personnel is required. Establish periodic team and status meetings to review career planning, opportunity areas within the roles and special projects that align with future career paths;
• Ensuring Consumer Beauty Planograms are grounded in fact-based, strategic rationale based on category based insights and company/brand priorities;
• Managing $90MM in-store budget inclusive of fixture, freight, labor, corrugate, and graphic design and printing services;
• Oversee In-Store Strategy and Planogramming seasonal process and special projects with internal cross functional teams and customer teams;
• Lead team to develop strategic insight presentations to internal cross functional teams, customer teams and senior management that ensure all parties have the most current understanding of Beauty POG dynamics;
• Sell and implement In-Store Strategy to our customers that aligns with Coty’s brand objectives balances with Retailer initiatives;
• Build relationships with Customer and Customer teams within the Top 5 Accounts to align against best in class operating processes;
• Achieve 100% on-time ship of Fixtures to customers and in-full, while adhering to the policy on expediting and maintaining cost efficiencies overall. Involve the Transportation team as needed to plan shipments during peak production periods;
• Manage and develop senior relationships with fixture design development, labor, and fixture production vendors;
• Oversight for wall timeline management, from Strategy to Execution for each brand. Effectively communicate key milestones and due dates to all partners internally and externally, and be very clear when there are changes to the expected delivery date. Work to close any gaps or change delivery expectations;
• Primary contact for all fixture, graphic and corrugate vendors to support the permanent merchandising process for all customers around planning, execution and continuous improvement;
• Review vendors on a regular basis (timing varies by vendor). Develop and complete analytics and dashboards in preparation for each meeting to review progress and identify opportunity areas. Maintain strong working relationships with all vendors and be knowledgeable about their company, as well as their role in the process;
Application Pre-Requisites:
• Bachelors degree, plus an MBA preferred
• 15+ years prior experience in consumer package goods sales environment, including team leadership, Sales or Trade Marketing, operations or supply chain is required. Exceptional computer skills, including extensive experience in Microsoft Office, are needed. Experience with SAP, Oracle and DLx is preferred.
Special skills required:
• Prior successful large team management (> 20 team members)
• Must possess excellent analytical, interpretive, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of the consumer products industry, as well as best in class practices utilized in supply chain strategies within and without the industry, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems successfully.
• Demonstrates effective communication and negotiation skills to solve problems and gain agreement with and inform others, while targeting long-term objectives. Uses facts and data analysis to identify good options and make good decisions.
• Demonstrates and effectively applies consumer industry and cross-category knowledge and expertise
• Serves as liaison between customer, team counterparts and internal support team members to foster a culture of growth and collaboration
• Ability to use data and analytics to both drive company strategy and execute strategic objectives of brand groups
• Ability to present and influence effectively to C-Level senior management within the organization.
