Director, North America Online Merchandising – MAC Cosmetics
Description:
Th-e Director of North America Online Merchandising will be responsible for defining and implementing the MAC.com merchandising strategy and plan, while delivering sales goals across the MAC brand sites in North America. Reporting to the Executive Director, NOAM Brand.com, this role will work with key cross-functional teams, including Global Product Marketing and North America Marketing Teams to establish MAC.com as the destination for trends powered by artistry. The Director, North America Online Merchandising will manage two direct reports.
-STRATEGY: Devise and implement the merchandising strategy for MAC brandsites across North America (US and Canada) supporting the vision of positioning MAC.com as the destination for trends powered by artistry and the community for diversity and inclusion. Identify channel-specific category/sub-category distortions addressing needs of target customer segments.
-SALES PLANNING AND ANALYSIS: Drive sustainable and profitable sales growth for MAC.com in North America, ensuring that sales and gross margin goals are met. Perform weekly business reviews analyzing business trends and providing recommendations to maximize sales and profits. Manage quarterly online business review for NOAM.
-MERCHANDISING: Translate new product launches for the online channel, develop online exclusive programs. Manage trends curation and creation by partnering closely with key cross-functional teams, including Global Product Marketing, Global Consumer Engagement, Creative and Artistry & Development and NA Brand Team to create excitement and drive qualified traffic to NA Brand.com.
-COMMERCIAL PROGRAMS: Define and execute high-impact, integrated commercial programs across commerce, social and marketing channels to win during key online shopping events (i.e. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, etc.). Plan and manage always-on support model for hero products with digital micro-activations that drive trial and retention.
-BRAND EQUITY AND STORY-TELLING: Drive ecommerce content strategy tailored to target audience and supporting MAC equities of trends, artistry, diversity & inclusivity, social activism and community along consumer journey. Manage full funnel content creation and execution, partnering closely with MAC Creative team, NA Creative studio.
-SITE MERCHANDISING & EXPERIENCE: Oversee execution of merchandising and content strategy across brandsites by partnering closely with the Assistant, Site Merchandiser to deliver superior client experience. Provide recommendations for site enhancements, including educational tools, navigation bars and filters and partner closely with Global Site Experience team for the execution of site enhancements.
-CUSTOMERS: develop deep understanding of MAC.com customers and unlock key consumer insights by leveraging customer ratings & reviews, CRM data, social listening, customer surveys, etc. to drive merchandising strategy and programs.
-SAMPLING: Devise and execute the online sampling strategy managing forecast to drive ROI
-REPLENISHMENT: Reinvigorate replenishment strategy with integrated plan across consumer touch point to increase Customer Lifetime Value
-PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: manage and develop talents, defining personal development and aligned work plan/goals for each team member. Role model and reward the application of MAC values of entrepreneurship and collaboration.
Qualifications
-BS/BA required - MBA desirable
-10+ years work experience in a merchant role at a retailer or brand site
-eCommerce and digital marketing highly preferred
-Omnichannel experience a plus
-High degree of comfort in highly creative and unstructured work environment
-Capability to drive results in a highly matrixed organization with competing priorities
-Proven track record of delivering in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-5+ years in team management
-Team player
-Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
-Strong organizational skills
