Job Summary
TOMS Shoes is looking for a Finance Business Partner to serve as the key business analyst and liaison between Marketing and Finance from our headquarter location. The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting, developing and improving the financial processes that enable sound planning and decision making for our marketing team. This position specifically focuses on developing, streamlining and maintaining financial and operational reports/models to provide direct financial support to the Chief Marketing Officer. This role also includes the tracking and in-depth analysis of budget versus actual variances to identify opportunities and risks to the business.
Essential Responsibilities
• Support the development of the department’s annual operating budget, strategic plan and rolling forecast. Build, maintain and eventually automate complex financial and analytical models using advanced Excel skills and SAP/BI queries.
• Provides analysis and feedback on financial performance and key metrics including root cause variance explanations to highlight opportunities and risks on a monthly basis around budget versus actuals.
• Manage departmental accruals and internal orders tracking, in collaboration with the Accounting team.
• Identify, analyze, and communicate trends and issues affecting the business to provide financial information and guidance to all levels of management.
• Perform due diligence and analytical support for new initiatives. Perform sensitivity and incremental cost-benefit decision analyses.
Requirements and Qualifications
• Financial forecasting/analysis, accruals accounting and/or rolling forecast management
• Strong partnership and collaborative style with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills especially for an audience who may not possess familiarity with finance for this position works intensely with the greater marketing team
• Advance knowledge of Excel, SAP and BI
• Experience in developing complex financial models, forecasting, reporting and variance analyses
• Ability to manage/lead cross functional teams in a fast paced, dynamic environment, to think strategically, act tactically & command credibility and influence across the organization
Education and Experience
• 8+ years of experience in financial forecasting/analysis, consolidation reporting and/or accounting with strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with accruals, GL and cost center data analysis
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Master of Business Administration or other equivalent Master
• Experience in retail/fashion industry with ample understanding of marketing practices
