Summary:The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for providing support to our vendors and carrier network using computer software programs. Communicating with the Purchase Order Management and Buying groups to ensure inbound purchase orders are routed within the ship window and carriers are scheduled through the transportation management system (TMS).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate activities between all vendors and carriers, monitor daily pickups of shipments of truckload, less than truckload, ocean containers, and air shipments
• Notify Buying team of issues with purchase orders of vendors shipping early, late, or short ship an order
• Update TMS with billing information
• Assist receiving department with billing and carrier request
• Daily tendering of shipments through the Kewill/BluJay TMS from routing request
• Coordinate pickup activities between our 3PL operations on the East and West Coasts
• Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets
• Address issues from vendor shipments that have arrived on DC/FC
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• 5 years' experience in a logistics, distribution center, or transportation environment preferred
• Functional knowledge of transportation management systems and transportation industry
• HS diploma required, college degree preferred
