Product Development Assistant - Calvin Klein Handbags
Overview

GIII also has licenses with the four major professional sports leagues, as well as over 100 U.S. colleges and universities. In addition, G-III currently designs, manufactures and markets an extensive range of apparel, including outerwear, dresses, sportswear, beachwear, women's suits and women's performance wear, as well as luggage and women's handbags, small leather goods and various accessories.
GIII Apparel Group is currently seeking a Product Development Assistant to join its team based in New York City!
Responsibilities
• Daily correspondence with manufacturers/suppliers/tanneries.
• Be able to effectively manage time, multi-task and pay strong attention to detail.
• Manage and track incoming packages; Prepare daily outgoing packages.
• Manage sourcing of new materials and leathers and request FDS/LDS Sheets for Design.
• Schedule and attend meetings with suppliers/tanneries with Design.
• Update seasonal color boards with swatches and update with approved swatches received.
• Manage organization of all submits from manufacturers/suppliers/tanneries daily.
• Manage the approval of the bulk submits from manufacturers/suppliers/tanneries and follow up on rejections/revisions and/or communicate issues to Design/Production accordingly.
• Manage the approval of Bulk Material Charts and sending duplicate sets to QC.
• Requesting Bulk Material Status chart from manufacturers each week and pinpoint issues.
• Maintain core material/leather color libraries and update with new colorways each season.
• Attend Production Turn-In meetings.
Qualifications
• 1-2 years of industry experience
• Bachelor's Degree
• Self-starter with ability to function independently as well as in a team based environment
• Team player with excellent written & communication skills and necessary follow through
• Great attention to details and deadlines with exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to think creatively with a proven ability to problem solving
• Must be able to perform efficiently in a high pressure, fast paced environment
