Community Program Manager, Retail New York City: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family
The world of Retail is changing at a rapid pace and constantly evolving. As consumer expectations and interests change, we are looking at our Retail Marketing and in-store experience strategies differently. In this position, you will be instrumental in executing top tier retail activations while building partnerships to influence action sports, art, music, and street culture in our stores. Additionally, you will help inspire people to peruse creative expression through experiences in a community format within our retail space.
How You Will Make a Difference:
Drive in-store programming in the NY Metro area with a focus on Brooklyn. Build scalable programming concepts. Identify and manage support resources as needed. Develop and maintain a balanced event calendar. Actively seek local partnerships and programming across action sports, art, music, and street culture to support strategic brand goals. Oversee calendars, planning, bookings, community outreach, event production, facilities management, third party requests. Carry out post-event analysis and reporting on KPIs back to Sr. Manger of Retail Events and Brand Experiences including photos, consumers engaged, brand messages, products seeded, etc. Partner with Sr. Manger of Retail Events & Brand Experiences and cross functional North American brand marketing and events teams to align on event concept/strategy to ensure messaging and event elements are clear and on brand Maintain detailed budgets with all line items up to date and on budget. Work with Sr. Manger of Retail Events & Brand Experiences on preliminary budgeting, quoting and tracking all invoices/payments Work with social media partner on calendars and programming needs
Skills for Success:
Years of Related Professional Experience: Manager 5-7+ years
Educational/ Position Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years program or project leadership experience in marketing or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Experience working in the retail industry a must
• Ability to work independently and problem solve
• Strong knowledge of the NY metro area a must
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
• Travel by air and overnight, as required 15% amount of time.
• Lifting and/or bending 50 lbs amount of weight.
