Mission/Role
The Manager, Public Relations will support the Cole Haan PR Department in maximizing Cole Haan's press coverage and acting as a creative media thinker while managing the day-to-day department operations reporting into the Senior Director.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Participate in the strategic development and evolution of the Public Relations strategy to support the brand to increase traffic and drive retail sales.
Provide input on strategies and plan for servicing global and regional communications and asset needs.
Consistently bring fresh and creative ideas to the Cole Haan team.
Focus and increase editorial coverage within the digital space by managing and increasing presence with top tier outlets.
Develop and maintain press relationships to better enhance the exposure of Cole Haan; pitch and place Cole Haan stories in the media with a focus on digital.
Provide PR support across all business channels including:
US Full Price Retail
Digital
International
Licensees
Wholesale
VIP and Celebrity
Collaborations
Manage, collaborate and support external PR agency partner regarding editorial recaps, weekly calls, assets and sample requests.
Create detailed written briefs for both internal and external partners to support any PR events, seasonal initiatives or creative asset requests.
Work closely with internal partners to ensure cohesive brand messaging delivered in parallel with seasonal buys and key franchise launches (Brand Marketing, Brand Design, Product Design, Merchandising and Direct to Consumer).
Create PR Tool Kits for Seasonal Collections and Collaborations (Press Releases, Fact Sheets, Lookbooks etc).
Oversee and manage the PR samples (product, closet and requests).
Manage PR events and activities (Press Previews, Launch Events and Collaboration activations).
Research and initiate new opportunities to heighten and increase Cole Haan brand awareness.
Work with the Senior Director to create awareness of the U.S. Communications strategy for internal partners (Executive Team, International and Licensees).
Provide editorial results and rankings of PR efforts to Senior Director.
Manage Public Relations Associate and/or additional PR temps in day-to-day department responsibilities and needs.
Manage and review departments daily accounting/invoicing and report into Senior Director.
Ensure all digital placements follow brand guidelines and provide an exceptional user experience.
Special projects as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related area
• Minimum of 5 years prior experience in Public Relations within a Global Lifestyle Brand, Digital or Retail space
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong organizational, planning and prioritizing skills in a fast paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Must have previous experience working with Fashion GPS, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, Google Docs
